auction vs. best offer

I find this thread interesting and am curious as to what is the considered opinion on this...

I place an ad that says something like this...

I am strongly considering selling "object Y" (with descriptions and pictures)...if you are interested in it let me know how much you are willing to pay.

I'll decide by a stated date if I will sell it or not...

Is this an auction?

Does the same logic hold if I place a similar ad as a buyer (I want to buy and will consider your goods over a period of time)...

Just curious...

I don't know the answer to your question but i beleive that the NGC Max is manufactured by Wildcard Innovations (makers of Argo navis)...you could drop Gary K (the owner) and e-mail and with the time difference between here and Australia (Wildcard is and Aussie company) you might even have an answer by the morning.

I am no expert but was thinking it might have more value as a "home decorative item" than it might as an actual telescope...just a thought

I enjoyed it but it did not go the way I expected. My teenage son’s loved it. I understand some people have mixed feelings about this chapter (lovers and haters).

I can see both sides of the argument. It is interesting to hear what others think.

Very happy with my Pentax XW 10 mm and 7 mm and would highly recommend them as additions to your nice range. I have longed for the 5 mm and 3.5 mm Pentax eyepieces but am not sure that I’d have enough opportunity to use them based on my current limited frequency of good sky conditions
