What size rings for LOMO 95???

Posted By Robert Klipstein

Could someone please tell me what size rings would fit my LOMO 95 mak and where I might be able to find these rings? Or, does it really need to be mounted with rings to make it very sturdy on the tripod? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Apogee's new wide field refractors?

Posted By Robert Klipstein

I see that Apogee is now offering three new widefield refractors imported from China in 80mm, 90mm, and 110mm. Has anyone had any experience with these scopes, and if so, what is your impression as to build quality and optics?

Thanks for any information you can offer.

Celestron CN80-ED 80mm apo refractor

Posted By Robert Klipstein

8O Has anyone seen or used one of the new Celestron 80mm ED apo refractors. I have received some information from Celestron Technical support stating that it is similar to the Orion 80mm ED(they probably use the same ED lens). However, I am not sure they use the same size tube as Orion. Technical told me that if you remove the dew shield, the tube diameter is around 85mm. I wasn't able to get them to tell me if they have has any collimation problems like the Orion ED or what the delivery time to dealers is going to be.

Replacement focuser on Celestron 102mm F5?

Posted By Robert Klipstein

Can anyone tell me if anyone makes a quality 2" visual back that will fit onto the 2" focuser of the Celestron 102mm F5? I have tried the one made by Mercury Support Systems, but the threads don't match. If anyone has another option, please let me know.

Thanks,
Bob

Shooting photo's using a Pentax K-1000?

Posted By Robert Klipstein

I am really new to photographing birds, so I wondered if anyone was still using 35mm film camera's, or has everyone gone to digital? I have access to a Pentax K-1000 to use with my Vixen 60mm f/5 and could use some pointers as to how to set it up correctly. Thanks in advance for any help.
