Robert,

Very nice! It looks like you are getting the hang of the Lum camera. I am beginning to see it's good points also. I like the save settings feature which almost makes it easy to reproduce settings. As soon as Streampix fixes more of the bugs, it will really help.

Hi all,

Mars from September 16. It turned out better than I thought it would. I am finding that the Lumenera camera is outperforming the Toucam lately.

Brian,

That is a nice set of images. First, the colour looks nice. I look at the SPC and it is almost pure white. That is a good sign the colours are close. You have a nice image scale, detail jumps out. How much time do you put into focusing? I find with my Mewlon 250 the image almost snaps into focus unlike the Celestrons I have owned.

One thing I have done is to get away from using the monitor attached to the laptops. When I was using a laptop, I bought a good 15" crt monitor and run it in tandem with the laptop. I feel the colours are truer and I can focus tighter. Now I use a tower and the same 15" crt monitor. It requires a little more cart to hold everything, but I like the results better.

Good luck and keep them coming!!

Mars September 22, 2005

Hi all,

Here are my images from September 22. I think they are my best Mars images yet. I am using the Lumenera almost exclusively for Mars now. I'm not sure about the excess of green in the image. Seems I get a signficant green reading in the Lum even when it is totally covered and the green gain set to it's lowest value. We'll have to see how that pans out.
