Has anyone else noticed the more than slight resemblance between Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the late Sonny Bono.

Hmmm. The plot thickens. I'm sure the more intelligent members of this forum thought that Sonny was MURDERED!

http://www.tabloidbaby.com/Source/sonny.htm

Perhaps that is not the true story....

Maybe a stunt double skied into the tree? Maybe an empty coffin is buried in the California hills? Maybe Salvatore Bono is now a CIA plant running Iran! What is more, maybe Sonny is building up a nuclear threat under direct orders from Bush and the neo-cons!!! It all fits together now.

Nuclear Iran is the one threat that will cause the U.S. Senate to vote temporary war powers to Bush. Then they will cancel the '08 elections!!!! Next comes the complete and absolute consolidation of world wide power in a Neo-Con Empire!!!!! We are being played like finely tuned musical instuments.

I defy you to prove that this is not exactly what is happening!!!!!!

Brown Weasel with a Meadow Vole

Posted By James Brown

Those are spectacular images Tyler. How do you identify the weasel's victim as a vole? Not knowing any better, I'm sure I would just think it was a field mouse, if I were lucky enough to see such an elusive creature and his prey at all.

Baader Mk.V and mirror T-2, part 1.

Next up is seeing if I can reach focus without the 1.25" glasspath and seeing if I really notice any correction improvement from the mirror diagonal vs. the prism diagonal. I think it may be more a theoretical improvement rather than a practical, but we shall see.

Philip

Hi Philip:

I have measured that I need to rack my focuser in an additional 18mm to reach focus after removing a 1.25x glaspath compensator.

I'm sure that the amount of necessary in focus travel is a very system dependent measurement, but my system is similar to yours (24mm pans, Mark V, 140mm f7 refractor).

The field of view without the 1.25x glaspath is really not that much wider, but it is nice to go to the maximum for open clusters and other big things like M31.

I can't see any aberrations at these super low powers with or without the glaspath. I do always use the various glaspaths and/or barcon combinations for planetary viewing though. I like being able to run the whole list of useable magnifications with just the 24 pans.

My peepers have degraded, need advice

My factory original 1 x 7 peepers have degraded to 1 x 5 and my 21 year warranty expired over 30 years ago. I've asked my eye doctor for some of that solution he uses to dilate my eyes for use at night but he said no dice. Has anyone tried that dilation solution to increase their light gathering capability at night?

Allen

When my eyes are dilated for annual exams, I can not see squat.

I am pretty sure that the agent in those drops which affects the iris muscles, causing full dilation, also affects the muscles that focus the eye lens.

Now that you mention it, one matter of momentous occasion is on my mind. See p.m.

There were quite a few and they all settled down to rest at about 7:30 p.m.

Actually, there were more than quite a few. This rest-group had 13 calves, give or take. There were at least 10 others scattered about! (The triple grouping from the previous photo is center right.)

A brief rain shower sent me and my telescope scurrying for cover, but we were rewarded with this double rainbow. What an evening! grin
