Trump: Boycott Goodyear!

True enough and the Trumptoids who created that slide that Trump deems offensive will have only shot themselves in the foot if they get laid-off as a result of it...

Trump: Boycott Goodyear!

The bottom line is that it's not Biden calling for some sort of crazy boycott against Goodyear. It's Trump! Go rally around a whack job like that...

Why I usually go observing on the solstice is beyond me. Here in the far west of the eastern time zone it doesn't get dark enough to see DSO's until at least 11:30 on the solstice. Last night I got started an hour earlier at a dark sky preserve 70 miles SW of the Detroit lightdome. I gave it a good three hours with my dob and saw a ton of globulars(some new ones I hadn't seen before), and all of the eye candy nebulae and clusters in the MW. Every August I have a personal challenge object trying to see the central star in M57 when it's near the zenith and I mostly fail but the seeing and transparency was good enough last night that I did see it, although it was fleeting. Doing that in a 14.5" anywhere is impressive, doing it in Michigan is a big deal. I would have gone all night but I had to work today.
Unfortunately in SoCal, the wildfires and the smoke they produce have negated any viewing opportunities for me at this time. My viewing area at Mt Pinos has been shrouded in smoke for about a week. I hear you about the central star in the ring. Many amateurs think they see it in lessor apertures and while that may be true in a suburb night, it's more like they're seeing a bit of background scintillation from seeing conditions which excites the receptors in the retina to fire and they think they see a central star when they really don't. I don't make the call on the central star in the ring in a 12" or 16" scope unless I'm viewing it under high magnification, say with a 4mm eyepiece. If I don't see a bowling ball of a star in the center of the ring with that kind of power, I chalk it up to seeing and move on...

Trump: Boycott Goodyear!

An American president shouting for American not to buy American-made Goodyear tires because of their no maga hats and and other non-political advertising policies:

Can you imagine if Biden did that? Fox news would have a field day. Mel would offer it up as further evidence of dementia.
I don't need new tires now, but if I did, Goodyears will go on...

"America has botched its coronavirus response in so, so many ways since the pandemic began. Even in a country that stands apart from the world for its horrific failures, there have been as many leadership bungles as there are states: Some failed to heed early warnings. Others refused to learn the lessons of outbreaks that came before theirs. Still others played politics instead of following science. And then there’s Georgia."
" First-term Republican Governor Brian Kemp presided over a late shutdown so short that his reopening drew a public rebuke from President Donald Trump, who has frequently opposed shutdowns altogether. Kemp’s administration has repeatedly been accused of manipulating data to downplay the severity of the outbreak. He has sparred publicly with the state’s mayors and sued to stop them from implementing safety restrictions or even speaking to the press."

Why don't you go out and party-up with your friends, Greg? Have a few beers over burgers and fries, play some cards at the round table and talk about shooting moose.
Hopefully, your buddies are back from their roadtrips with that stop-off at Sturgis. You can talk turkey with 'em. Maybe they've got a souvenir for you...

LOL! We got nothing. What does it matter how much you are testing, if results are not timely, accurate, and acted upon. We are at the mercy of this virus.
Well, perhaps there's the possibility of voter, er, ah, I mean tester/testee fraud or malfeasance occurring and those states that are late with the results are rigging it to make Trump look bad.  He hasn't said whether or not he will accept the results yet. We'll all have to wait and find out later...angel
