He summed it up this way and provided his views on these former military officers. He considers them a disgrace:
Retired Commander Kirk Lippold on the Atlantic Article:
"Since this article appeared I have been disturbed to see a number of senior military officers post it on their social media sites, as if it were fact. I really don't care what your politics are in this election season, but it should be noted that this article does not contain one attributable source for its biased and hate filled diatribe. If in fact there were senior officers who contributed to it, they lack integrity, moral courage, and are devoid of any ethical standard of performance.
Senior officers are supposed to stand up and be willing to do what's right and publicly stand for their views. The so-called contributors to this article demonstrate how many in the senior ranks of the military have become risk averse managers, unwilling to properly and adequately defend our nation. Because they won't attribute their names, they show their true colors, traitors to our nation, by undermining the ability of the commander-in-chief to effectively carry out his duties.
I've commended and chided Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump for their decisions regarding national security. It is shameful that officers senior to me perpetuate lies that their peers are ashamed to attribute to themselves.
Those who participated in creating this Atlantic article, and those who repost it as fact, are all part of the problem with our military today and I would not follow any of them into combat. They will get those serve our nation killed, and then blame others for their failures. Trust me, I lived it."
He is spot on.
"“I can tell you that my sources are unimpeachable,” Griffin said on the air Saturday. “I feel very confident with what we have reported at Fox.”
"“It is always better when people come on camera, but you can see how people get destroyed when they get crosswise with the president when they come out, and so people are reluctant,” Griffin said Saturday. “They’ve seen the language used to describe people and the way Twitter has been weaponized against them, and I think they just don’t feel they need that kind of grief right now."
“What they are saying they feel very strongly is accurate," she added. "They were there, and I’m a reporter, and it is my job to report what I heard."
Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin doubled down on her reporting that confirmed key details of an article from The Atlantic that alleged that President Trump disparaged World War I veterans during a 2018 trip to France.
