So Jim, what do you think of Trump's premature announcement of the candidacy of Senator Ted Cruz for the supreme court. What about Tom Cotton? Which one do you prefer?

I think Trump's unconventional approach to releasing a list of SC candidates "in advance" helped him beat Clinton.  This was arguably a very savvy political move.  Worked last time anyway.

Do you think Joe Biden will release a list too?  I feel like I'm channeling Rich here, but if Joe does not, why not?  Unlike Rich, I'm not playing gotcha -  I'll go first.  Personally I think that Joe will not release a list because if the SC candidates are too far left the R's will attack and if the candidates are Merrick Garland types, the lefties will revolt.  It's a lose - lose for Biden.

Trump on the other hand seems to have a better time rallying the base with his list of origialists.  Gives him some credibility with conservatives he might not otherwise have.

I'm surprised he didn't include Judge Jeanine...

I was thinking the same thing about Cruz. Ditto for Tom Cotton. Obviously a political stunt but a clever one at that...

As far as trumpiods believing it? Not a chance, even though the recordings are damning.
Yeah, Trump was personally concerned about stopping panic in the streets. I'm sure the  Trumptoids on the forum believe it, too. After all, they believe anything he says...

There does not seem to be any norm of expectation or rule or boundary that he will not violate if he thinks he can personally gain from it. Downplay the virus and encourage his supporters to endanger themselves and believe that it is no worse than the common flu when in fact, since February, he has known it's at least five times more deadly and extremely transmissible and a danger to everyone? Check! Accept and encourage help to get re-elected from foreign countries that are not our natural allies? Check! Blackmail our foreign partners to help get re-elected? Check! Use the power of his office to gain political advantage in unprecedented and never before seen ways? Check! Stoke racial tensions and play the race card to drive wedges between the electorate and attempt to portray himself as the law-and-order President? Check! I mean, it just goes on, and on, and on with this guy.
I might add, compared to his bony spurs, his generals are "pussies"...

It was interesting to listen to one of the CNN interviews of a doctor/epidemiologist who noted Trump had to have gotten that information about the airborne factor of transmission as well as the lethality compared to the flu and the highly contagious nature of Covid19 at that time from none other than the president of China.
"Chyna", as Trump likes to call it, is of course the villain in all of this but Trump was warned well in advance of what was coming...

The truly hilarious thing is that I guarantee you there are Trump supporters who will still argue that COVID-19 is no more harmful than the common flu.
Speaking of Trumptoids, where's Rich? The last we heard, he was going to a Labor Day barbecue. How about it, Rich, tasty burgers? Any take home? Carrying any covid?

Do you think that'll penetrate into the "mind' of a Trumptoid? I doubt it...
