Notice how the case presented on behalf of the Trump government is chock full of issues of merit while the appellate court decision is a procedural matter.

Hmm, I wonder how the conservatives of the court will do with those...
Did you notice the 5-4 ruling on the frozen, but earned USAID funds.   Kinda rocks your biased worldview.

Yeah, the nerve of that single judge and his audacity to believe that he could even think he had the legal expertise, let alone the legal authority, to compel the Trump administration to honor the contractual obligations of monies designated by congress for its stipulated purposes...

I’m sure I predicted it somewhere, but ACB and JR are your friends.

MAGA world turns on Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett

"She is a rattled law professor with her head up her a--," said Mike Davis, who once clerked at the Supreme Court for Justice Neil Gorsuch and described Barrett as "weak and timid."
You reckon Rich has a significantly more educated cousin?

With regard to the Presidency, with 55 electoral votes going to the Democrats, the Republicans would almost never win the Presidency.

For the Senate, if Canada were to join, but demand that each of their provinces and territories join as individual state, that would mean 26 new senators, the majority of whom would be Democrats. The Republicans would never control the Senate again. Canada would be the dominant voting block in the US and would largely be able to dictate policy. Gun laws anyone? How about universal health care? Abortion bans... not a chance.  Canada would shake up American politics in a way not seen before. smile

Further proof that trump and his sycophants don't think things through.
Hi Maurice, everything you say is true, at lease as a snapshot in this point in time.  The power of the liberal or conservative factions wax and wane in Canada, the US, and other nations.   And not always on the same schedule!   Of course, no actual conservative really wants to take in Canada.  In the case of Canada as the 51st state, I would bet big money that Trump is just trolling Canada, because he is an ass.  The best way to deal with a troll is to ignore the trollish commentary.

The tariffs and trade war are another thing altogether, and require serious analysis and a serious response from Canada.   I personally can not see how provoking a trade war with our most important trading partners helps anyone.

Good post James.   I don’t know if this is a new low.  Primacy bias may be at work.  There are legions of instances of previous leaks and gross mishandling of classified information in the leadership of previous administrations, always going unpunished.  Meanwhile, a soldier or sailor will be court martialed and jailed for this sort of thing, as we have noted on this forum many times.

Historically, some of the leaking and all of the document mishandling seems attributable to incompetence or paranoia.  Some leaking is the result of malfeasance though, like the IRS or FISA leaks.   Do we know which this is?   Seems odd that this particular journalist would be leaked to through incompetence.  Either way, the general public is numbed.

Ouch.  That’s gonna leave a mark.

The Timing?   There was no notice of where those planes were in the hemisphere, what munitions they were carrying, and what their targets were.

Were longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates revealed? No, not at all.

Now then, maybe you should consider this.

59 enemy combatants were eliminated.  That's fantastic in my opinion.

I don't recall you speaking one word when the previous Sec. Def. Lloyd Austin got 13 AMERICAN military members killed in enemy territory.

Why is that?  Is it because of the fact that you are a selective outrage leftist fraud, who really doesn't care about whether a mission is successful, but rather how You and other leftist frauds can politicize it and capitalize on it?

I don't recall You saying one word about General Milley literally collaborating with our Chinese Enemy Xi's Military leader, discussing how he would STOP the Commander in Chief President Donald Trump from taking action against that Enemy China.

Can You refresh my memory as to when you called for General Milley's resignation or court martial?

Oh wait, You mean to say that You didn't?  You were where again, when these 2 military leaders caused the deaths of 13 American soldiers?  Under Your desk, hiding?  Is that right?

So when did You come on to this thread exhibiting outrage over the deaths of those soldiers?  Can you point me to Your postings about it?

Oh, never?  You never did?  Does this mean you're a partisan hack leftist?

Where were you to become hysterical about that military failure and massively pathetic withdrawal from Afghanistan?

And lastly, does this excellent military operation, which was highly successful, anger You because it was successful, while your hero Joe Biden didn't have any response, and are You pissed that this great military operation eliminated the Houthis who had attacked American military hundreds of times?

And so since this error in having this biased reporter in the mix didn't result in a failed operation, and resulted in a very successful mission, please explain how now that enables the Chinese, Russians, or the Iranians?

Tell me, do you support Iran? smile
Richard, I simply can’t believe you are willing to make these arguments.   I’m referring to all of your posts in this thread.  You might be the only person on earth who is arguing that this was not classified information or that the leak was not a big deal.  You can support Trump if you desire and still acknowledge that this was an enormous, epic, and monumental security failure (or other words starting with f) made by high level administration officials.

Heck, the use of Signal by itself, for any official conversation is surely prohibited, notwithstanding the content of these messages.   Are secure internal channels that inconvenient?   I know that HRCs private and unsecured email server is old news, but what the hell, do these Washington types never learn from past errors?
