Trump on Kilmar Garcia

That is a fact.

What is your source for this fact?  I'm not saying you are lying.  I have not been able to find the 2 immigration court orders though.

Thank you President Trump for doing what needed to be done to get the US Stock Markets to go up a bunch this week!

I think Richard is just trolling, but you never know.  Even someone as limited as him can look at the a YTD index chart and see that Trump's "policies" have not created a good market.

Still, I remain hopeful that the market will do OK over the next four years, in spite of Trump.  "OK" but "not great" would be a fine outcome in my opinion.  Here is where Rod shows up to tell me how wrong I am.  Rod has been right about a lot of things lately!

Who is “he” highlighted above?  Abrego Garcia?  I assume “they” are the alleged rapists/murderers I asked about.  Right?   Seems we agree that an appropriate level of due process is mandatory in every case.   Right?  We’ll get to Abrego Garcia next, but what about the dozens of alleged Tren de Aragua  gangsters awaiting deportation in Texas?   Are they entitled to any sort of due process?

Assuming “he” is Abrego Garcia, what due process are you talking about?   I don’t think it is disputed by anyone that the final court order prohibited his deportation to El Salvador.   Do you really think the government giving a hearing and then violating their own order is due process?

And I'll also say that the more you write here on this forum, year after year, the more you expose yourself.

A few years back, you wrote something that I found hilarious at the time, writing as if you were thinking out loud and putting it on paper, claiming (and I'm paraphrasing) "Gee, I guess I am fairly liberal after all", as if you had some sort of epiphany in realizing just how far left you supposedly had found yourself to be.

You proclaimed it, as if you were almost startled to say it out loud here.  wink

At that time, I remember having a good chuckle as I thought to myself, who does this guy think he's kidding by assuming that anyone out there is buying his bullshit.

After all, how many times over the decades that I've been here have I been saying what a fraud I find you to be?  A dozen or more?

When you made that statement here I wondered how long you had actually been deluding yourself into believing that you were any semblance of a conservative.

And as for your statement I placed in boldfaced type above?  Your criticism of the gov't is laughable when considering the fact that the Due Process was given to this illegal alien in 3 separate court hearings.

Each immigration court in 2019, back in March and in April provided this criminal a hearing. In each of those court hearings he was deemed unworthy of his asylum claims, and each of those courts issued an order of deportation.

He managed to get another hearing in December (his 3rd) of that year and the judge in that particular hearing decided in all his liberal bleeding heart opinion that it was too dangerous to send this criminal back to his HOME country of El Salvador because his lawyers had been able to convince that judge that should he be sent back to El Salvador, a rival gang might do him harm.

Now in the more than 5 years that has transpired since that liberal lawyer decided in favor of this guy named Abrego Garcia, that gang back in El Salvador that was so threatening to Garcia's well being, is no longer around.  It doesn't exist.

So this MS13 gang member named Abrego Garcia has had at least 3 shots at Due Process.  Not enough for you?

Ok then, how many times does this alien, this citizen of El Salvador deserve in all your leftist thought process and leftist opinion?  3x?  14x?  38x?

Being a person who understands the impracticality of giving 15 MILLION Or more illegal aliens 4, 5, or 6 shots in court, I have the sense to understand that would mean that if we had 1000 different courts that provided even 1 hearing for each of those individuals, operating every single day of the week, 365 days per year, it would take well over 15,000 days if we were to have each of those 1000 courts hear the cases of every individual.

Are you capable of doing simple math in your head?  If so, then I guess that even you might be able to reason that if what you in all your infinite wisdom wanted to achieve it would take about 40 years of court hearings to give every illegal person here on this soil the due process that you EXPECT to be given to them and that would be if these 1000 different courts were working 24/7/365.

That's practical to you is it?  I'm sure that you actually believe that it is.

Thankfully the men who drew up the concept of our great Constitution weren't that foolish and ignorant as you.

Yet You, like all liberals have NO practical solutions to any problem because you don't think past the nose on your face.

All you care to offer up is your dead platitude that this criminal illegal alien who is not a citizen of the US, but a citizen of another nation is entitled to endless due process with 2 or 3 different lawyers provided by the state, so as to satisfy your arrogant, impractical, and absurd wishes DEMANDS.

Instead like someone much smarter than you or I once opined "the Constitution was not designed to be a suicide pact".

The facts that I provided above are such that the above scenario is a laugh out loud absurdity because gov't doesn't operate with any sort of efficiency, so in all reality (reality being a concept that you and those like you never ever consider), it wouldn't take 40 years to provide all those illegal aliens with lawyers, judges, and hearings, but might take 300 years.

So then this Garcia guy should be provided with multitudes of lawyers, hearings, and immigration courts, enough to satisfy your absurd demands?

Is that how it works in your asinine world?  Feel free to comment.
Then why wasn’t he deported?   Are you lying again?

The bolded part is irrelevant.   The key thing Richard is that the government violated a proper court order by shipping Garcia to El Salvador.   That is not due process no matter how many earlier hearings he had.   The government has a legal obligation to get him back and have the earlier order vacated if they can prove the facts Trump alleges.    Should be easy to do if they actually have the facts.

I’m really glad you clarified this.  As James predicted, you are only in favor of due process if it is politically advantageous for you or your heroes.    Otherwise, “to hell with due process.”   Good to see you spell it out so plainly.

Last, your “endless” due process argument is absurd.   All I want, and all the Constitution requires, is an appropriate hearing with notice and the right to counsel, plus appeal if desired.

Fortunately, the Supreme Court agrees with me, which is why they issued the overnight order last weekend stopping the Trump administration from deporting the dozens of alleged Tren de Aragua gangsters held in Texas to the El Salvadoran prison without any hearing at all.

Of course, according to you, the government was only being practical in that case.   Who really has time for even one hearing?

You seem to be OK with the government ignoring a proper court order in the name of practicality, So I guess you would be OK with the following:

A defendant is convicted of murder and rape in federal court because his crime took place in multiple states.  He is sentenced to death at trial, but on appeal he presents enough evidence to overturn the death penalty and ultimately is sentenced to life in prison.

A couple years later, the warden ignores that order, straps the defendant to a table and executes him by lethal injection.    “Oops” the warden says.   The defendant’s lawyers and family are outraged.   Then the government argues with a straight face:

1.  There is no due process violation because the defendant had dozens of hearings and appeals.

2.  This defendant was a notorious criminal murderer and rapist, so he deserved to die no matter what the controlling court order said.

3.  It was not practical to imprison him for life anyway, very expensive you know.

You would be OK with those arguments, right Rich?
