How SCOTUS Will Decide On Trump's Tariffs

There you have it, nothing to see here...
That sort of attitude is exactly what we expect from the GOP's non-leaders, and and of course is 100% reflective of the Democrat's head-in-sand analysis of the 2024 drubbing.  Both parties are incapable of introspection.

At this particular point in time, I get the feeling that the D's are "more" out of touch.  "Hey, let's run actual socialists nationally!  It worked in New York and Portland!"  I don't doubt that the Republicans get drubbed in the 2026 midterms because of Trump and everything everyone has posted here in the last day or two.  But if the Democrats can't pull their head out of you-know-where and nominate Shapiro or the like in 2028, I can guarantee President Vance.   Not that I am sure Vance would be so bad freed of the dark shadow, but you never know.  In other words, I am getting worried reading all those articles about AOC primarying Schumer or Mamdani being the future of the party.

This is what I’m talking about.   Has the WaPo done a “deep” puff piece about Shapiro?   I bet not.

SCOTUS Poised To Give Trump Even More Unbridled Power

How true, and take another recent example wherein the cons, without much of any "deliberation" other than a few hours over a holiday, decided that the redistricting plan for Texas was kosher. They totally ignored the hours and days worth of analysis of the appeals court that had decided the plan cleary amounted to racial gerrymandering which it obviously does and even ignored an internal justice department document that concluded the same thing. But according to Sammy Alito, it's obviously ONLY partisan gerrymandering and there's nothing to see here...
Do you think it is illegal racially motivated gerrymandering in Texas?   Seriously? Have you considered the procedural footing and timing?   What about the gerrymandering efforts in CA?   All good there right?

Flawed?   Of  course.   Great too, and an honor to be a citizen.

Do you think the Gerrymandering in Texas was illegally racially motivated?

You’ll recall that Texas was forced to redistrict by Court order.   I reckon the parties that brought the original suit regret that now.

Only enlarging the court to 11 or 13 combined with term limits or age limits*will change this.

Did you read the opinion?   Of course not.   I am so disappointed in this forum.   Just because you all don’t like an interim outcome, you all default to the “shill” argument without observing that the Court is quite likely 100 % correct under the law.   This is an unresolved case and you, Rod, and even James are unwilling to dig into the legal and procedural issues.   Much easier to smuggly play the “shill” card.   😟

By the way, how long you gonna beat the stale 2025 Project conspiracy theory?   Trump is way out in the weeds on his own agendas now.   Your own personal boogie man had little to do with it.

Anyone want to tell me how the shills so clearly shilled?

As far as I know, the unusual mid-decade redistricting we are discussing was initially done entirely at Trump's behest to gain a partisan advantage in the 2026 midterms. I'm not sure what you mean by "it was court-ordered." I believe the Republican lawyers who defended the redistricting in court even argued it wasn't illegal, since it was done entirely for partisan benefit. However, that doesn't mean that the redistricting didn't disenfranchise minorities. I see similar actions in blue states, such as CA, resulting from partisan actions in Texas and other red states. In contrast, Texas's actions were clearly undertaken only because Republicans are in deep trouble in the midterms. Surely this diffence in motivation between red and blue states is meaningful.
Then it's legal.  I don't like gerrymandering at all, but the law is the law.   Your observation is surely true, that partisan gerrymandering by Rs always arguably dilutes minorities, but only because minorities are predominately D.  Partisan motivation = legal.  We don't have to like it, but it is the law until Congress changes it.  Ha.

Alito discussed all of this in his short opinion.  The District Court applied the wrong standards, and the litigants did not even argue that Texas was not motivated by partisan advantage.

I was wrong about Court ordered I think.  It was DOJ ordered.

Incidental disenfranchising of minorities is not illegal if the gerrymandering is motivated by partisan purposes.  The "Texas started it" argument is legally meaningless.   I'd personally prefer not to have partisan gerrymandering, but we do, and according to many, the D's have historically benefited the most from this.  I know that I was personally gerrymandered from R Golden/Lakewood, where I lived at the time. to D Boulder, just so the dominant D's in Colorado were assured one more seat.
