Is it a "waste" to get a binoviewer for a Pronto??

I used my bino on a TMB 80mm mounted on a Gibraltar and really enjoyed the view! One advantage with this set up is you're not holding binoculars over your head but sitting on a comfy seat looking through the bino's. I now use a Genesis f/5 on the same Gibraltar and enjoy the view even more. I leave this set up all the time for a grab and go and to watch the wildlife running around the neighborhood and mountains. Give it a try and you'll enjoy yourself. Martin

How Would He Pronounce "Cassiopeia"?

I really don’t see how Obama inability to properly pronounce Orion has anything to do with him not having “knowledge of the world”. Bush could never say nuclear and so what. The average amateur astronomer can’t properly pronounce Ophiuchus or Bootes and I don’t think that makes him or her less knowledgeable about the sky or any subject for that matter. Why can’t you people just let the president settle in and do his job? I hate this politic forum on an astronomy site! I clicked on this link thinking there may be something intelligent finally being written concerning Cassiopeia and here I was disappointed again. Childish!

If a Tak Mewlon gives "refractor like performance", than I always wondered what their refractors did. Now I know :-) Maybe I should change my oil in my oil spaced triplets every 7000 light years so it doesn't color? I hope the new super duper refractor performs "Mewlon like". Martin

Just think there are those paying more for the Meade 40mm unit with central obstruction and orange light scatter around the sun. The 50mm Lunt filter is a beautiful filter for the money and capable of some nice images.

My heat control is over 10 years old and works fine. I wouldn't replace it unless I absolutely needed to replace the unit. If you do decide to replace the unit be prepared for a long wait to get the unit back. I waited six months for blocker and trimmer replacements and they lost my proof of payment as well!

Just a courtesy e-mail stating the item was sold may have avoided this thread. I try and answer every e-mail sent to me until the item is marked sold, it's just a courtesy I'd expect if I'm going to send my money to somebody I've never met. It's also important to rate a person after a transaction so others know this guy is OK to do business with. I can learn a lot about a user when they are heavily rated and rarely rate others.
