To all who responded,
Wanted to extend my thanks to those who responded to my fps concerns. Your help and suggestion got me the information I neded to take my new computer back to the vendor after determining that the HDD was defective. I have since come home with another unit and it is working great.
No dropped frames when using K3CCD and the benchmark test of the HDD shows it to be right in spec with the manfacturer's specifications.
Of course we are looking at less than perfect weather the rest of the week. It's not like I bought a new scope but I guess Murphy's law for astronomers doesn't care what the equipment is, your just going to have to wait before you and go out and play.
