Here is an image from the evening of 22nd June at my new home near Murrumbateman in country NSW. A large High pressure system over the area made for some very good seeing on this night and the next.

Last night saw some more excellent seeing around here for a short while at about 9pm. I'd estimate that it was very close to 10/10 for about 15 minutes or so while I was capturing.

Mars, October 21 from Murrumbateman

Like Mike I found the seeing was pretty good this morning from SE Australia. Mars is a challenge due to the low altitude - this image was taken with mars at 31 degrees.

Camera: point Grey Research Dragonfly2 mono firewire

- red channel: 150 seconds @ 40fps, 80% gain
- green channel: 50 seconds @ 40fps, 100% gain
- blue channel: 50 seconds @ 40fps, 100% gain

Stacked about 2500 frames in red and 1000 in each of green and blue. Frames were resampled to 150% size before processing.

Seeing was fair-to-good, at most 7/10.

Probably my best mars this season so far... At around 4.35am, not long after transit at 30 degrees altitude.

Red: 40fps for 90 seconds
Grn: 38fps for 60 seconds
Blu: 35fps for 60 seconds
IR : 30fps for 120 seconds (60s before and 60s after RGB)

Saturn 12th Feb from murrumbateman

Last night was the best night of seeing so far this year from my place - finally I've got a good Saturn image from this season!

My goal on saturn this year was to get the cassini division all the way around, and if you squint just right it's there in this image. Saturn is a little higher for us again this year but it will be a few more years before it reaches a good elevation.

Image composed of multiple imaging runs from 1am to 2am local time on the morning of 12th Feb, approx 8000 frames per channel.

Tethys is shown where it was located at the start of these imaging runs, at about 1.10am.
