I was able to see the reemergence of Antares with my new Starbuckets scope I got a few days ago. Nice way to break in the scope. Quite amazing. Very beautiful to see the bright orange dot "suddenly" reappear from behind the moon, right when you expect it. I've always been clouded out for lunar occulations of major stars and planets, so this was a real treat.

I think this has been discussed before. I believe the reason why there is little information about each sponsor is that they have not supplied such information for Herb to post. That's why in the little sponsors box on the right side of the page, very few astromart supporters have descriptions of their buisness (cause they simly haven't submitted anything). I guess the supporters think they really only get buisness through posting ads, not descriptions of their buisness...idk

The Hydrogen alpha bandwidth is red.
When you see those fancy dancy solar images by Paul or Don or whoever and they [the sun] look orange or some other cool color, it's cause it's processed. Amazing what computer processing does.

At age 23, I'm stunned by the new almost 2 trillion dollars in national debt, plus the imminent implosion of social security. And California just passed a budget, months late. Whatdoyouknow, more taxes.
Can we, the US, ask back the debt (usually war) we canceled over the last century (Europe, especially). JK
we are actually broke and need you to pay it back.

Teton Telescopes (I believe an Astromart sponsor) recently advertised a new line of high quality newts called the Rapier line. Looks like one of them might suit you, a Mike Spooner 6" f9.1 with quality parts all around. Higher on the price scale to reflect its ostensibly high quality.

You can only use 1.25" filters. If you really think about it, how would you screw on a 2" filter to the 1.25/2 Etha? I have the 13mm Ethos, and actually traded away a narrowband 2" filter for a couple 1.25 Lumicon filters to use with my Ethos, which is my ep of choice almost all the time now.
But Shawn is right. If you really want to use the 2" filters, get the skirt as an accy.
