Beautiful. Nice round stars and smooth flat background. Great to be able to string together that many.

LX200 Classic autoguider

I use an LX200 with an external guide scope. The guide camera is a Meade DSI Pro, connected directly to the computer via USB. Coming out of the computer, I use a GPUSB to interface between a USB and the guide port. Works well. Not sure which Orion you are referring to, but I think that LX200 port is pretty "standard". That camera might work in PHD - there are lots of options. (If you have never heard of it, PHD stands for Push Here Dummy, and is simple, but also very robust and flexible.)

Nice catch of the not-very-many photons from those more distant galaxies. Bunch in the background too.

Wow - that really brings out the tail. I'd also like to see what he does to process the dust lanes, in all the galaxies they are really dark and sharp.

Very nice image of a really cool object. (Another thing to put on the list as a reason to travel.)

Really nice first light. The corner stars are pretty good, and it looks like very even illumination. (But could still use the flats.) Lots of stuff you can fit into 3 moonwidths.

That's great. And just 9° up. Good job on the color corrections.

Really nice image. I am curious though - how exactly do you "blend" the H-alpha in for a five-color image? Do you have that process written up somewhere?

Thanks,
