Yep, Denver County is quite liberal. As I’ve mentioned many times, I was the anti-Trump R delegate from my district in Denver back in 96.  At the R county convention, the Republican chair asked if anyone was interested in running against DeGette, everybody laughed, it was obviously a well worn inside joke.

The scary part is that it’s not like Diana DeGette is any lukewarm liberal.  If she was not far enough to the left of the spectrum for the Denver voters, I don’t know what to think. I did not pay much attention to the campaign, but I think the people who actually voted in the primary saw her as part of the establishment, and hated her because she voted in certain instances for aid to Israel.   How any level of support for Israel, no matter how tentative, became a litmus test on the far left is something I’ll never understand.

P.s.  even though Denver is liberal, it is not crazy liberal like Boulder or San Francisco. We have had Republican mayors in Denver in my lifetime, and there are still a lot of good old boys, old money, new money from Texas and so on hanging around. If the Republicans had spotted DeGette’s demise in advance, they could’ve run a high name recognition Republican (John Elway?) against a vulnerable socialist newbie and maybe won that seat for the first time in about 60 years.

Glad to see you verify that he was wrong about You back then and he's once again wrong today, in his attempt to paint you as a reasonable center left lib, when that's the furthest thing from the truth.   smile
James is socially progressive and fiscally conservative. Always has been, as anyone who can read, even you, certainly knows.  In my opinion, James has trended (very slightly) to the left as I have known him over the past 20+ years.

Life happens and as some of us mature and become wiser our values and insights sharpen.  Our political positions evolve.  Bottom line, James is perhaps slightly more liberal than he was 20 years ago, but not by much.   I too am more liberal on social issues than I was 20 years ago.   But not a ton.   I bet James agrees with me when I say that the parties have moved much farther to the extremes than we have.

The Democrat Party has become the party of Hasan Piker and Abdul el Sayed, and is now the party that has become anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, and Anti-American

I’ve certainly gotten under his skin!   What does that say about me?   I reckon it was my full-throated denunciation of the DSA platform that sent him “round the bend”. 🤔

If so, then feel free to address any one of those facts or hide under your desk in your usual fashion.

I will check back.
A.   My friend James Lacey is not far left or radical. He is, like so many fellow Americans, liberal on social issues and reasonably conservative on fiscal issues. Currently, he is a solid middle-of-the-road Democrat for reasons he has shared with us this week, and over the years.

B.  A majority of Democrats do not agree with Hassan Piker and El Sayed with respect to Hamas and Israel.  The polling is clear on this point. So, I would say you are engaging in gross political exaggeration in your header (similar to those who would call all Republicans white supremacists).  It is ridiculous to attribute to all Democrats the viewpoints of the most extreme voices on the left. On the other hand, a fair read of your header, plus the text of your opening post says that I personally would support Piker, El Sayed, and Hamas.  That is not exaggeration but instead is clearly a lie, proved to be a lie by everything I have posted here over the years.  It is such a silly and obvious lie that one must wonder why you even bother posting such drivel.

C.  Your header states that Democrats are anti-American. This is clearly untrue, based upon polling and my own personal experience. I know a lot of Democrats. I suspect you know some Democrats too, have you asked them recently whether they hate America?

Bottom line, I am on the fence as to whether your header is best characterized as childish Trump-scale political exaggeration, or lies. It is pretty clear, however, that James has made his point.

By the way, do you have the balls to suggest Rod Kaufman supports Hamas?  I doubt it, at least not to his face.  He is a Democrat, you know.

Those were his words verbatim and he made those statements over the weekend on the Erin Molan show.

Furthermore his claims (those in my header) which I outlined went along with his urging of the Democrats everywhere to leave the party that he said had become supportive of those like Hasan Piker and his anti-semitic views.

In fact, Alan Dershowitz went so far as to leave the Democrat party and joined the Republican party.

He didn't just become an independent but he actually joined the Repub. party,

He also stated during that interview that he has spoken to many of his still Democrat friends and they have indicated privately to him that they will be voting for Republicans.

Another statement that Dershowitz made was to say that Donald Trump is the President who has supported Israel more than any other President in the history of this nation.

You might want to pass on that info. to your TDS afflicted friend Rod Kaufman. Oh and Bill Maher, famous left wing pundit indicated that he would probably vote for the Republican party this go round.

I'll pass on your characterization of Alan Dershowitz your assertions about his words that he's promoting childish Trump scale political lies.

Personally, I'll agree with his analysis of what the Democrat party stands for and what the party has become, rather than the shallow and ignorant opinion of a glorified bookeeper on this forum.

Feel free at any time to call up Alan Dershowitz on his podcast to inform him how childish he is and how he lies.
How dumb are you to think Alan Dershowitz is above political exaggeration!   Note that the part I called out as a lie was the first paragraph of your opening post.   I stand by that.   You lied (I know it was for shock value, but it was an obvious lie in any case.)    No lame appeal to Alan Dershowitz or any other logical fallacy is going to help you there.   How inconvenient for you.   Jim

Trump’s banning of CNN etc. from the Whitehouse was ridiculously unconstitutional.   This joins a long list of Trump’s actions that simply can not be defended by a true conservative, or any rational being.   Even bootlickers like Rich would have a tough time defending this.   So as Jim M. notes, expect no reply except for maybe pedantic nit picking of some sort or the other.  J
