Geostationary Satellites

The second was how the brain worked. I stopped moving the telescope to keep them in view, but even though I KNEW that it was M42 that was moving across the field, the brain kept trying to tell me to move the telescope to keep the SATELLITES in view!!!! 8O

It was fun watching. The were about 9th - 10th magnitude.

Anyong else seen this?

Yes, we saw three at Stellafane last year. Turn off the drive and watch the stars move by - what fun!

You might have more luck with the Classic/Antique/Vintage forum.

It is very collectable, but I don't know what a fair price would be. I suggest making an offer you are comfortable with and seeing what happens.

Moon Venus in Daylight

Yes, it was very easy. I've been watching them off and on most of the day, and am looking forward to Venus, the Moon, and Jupiter after sunset.
