Mars March 24, 2006

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Another Mars as it dips below 6". Seeing in March and April in my area usually is pretty good, this year is no exception.

A couple of Saturns

Hi all,

Here are a couple of decent, but not great Saturns.

Mars March 31, 2006

Hi all,

Still at it with Mars. The seeing was decent, but breezy on this evening. I'm going to reach my goal of imaging Mars under 5" of arc...tomorrow night!!

5mm eyepiece choice...

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm trying to decide which eyepiece I want, either the Takahashi LE-5mm or the Siebert Optics 4.9mm. I hear glowing reports on both. It will be used with my Mewlon 250 on those wonderous nights when I can seemly use infinite power grin . Does anybody have any experience with these. For the price of the Tak, I can get two Sieberts but I wonder if the Tak is twice as good than the Siebert (if at all). I have the Tak 25mm and it is a superb eyepiece. I have an 8mm Radian which I'm not particularily thrilled with as well.

Oh yes, 99% of my viewing is of the planets and globular clusters.

Thanks!!

Two Saturns from March!

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Wow, I finally finished processing all my March images with these two Saturns. I think maybe I'm learning something about imaging Saturn...maybe!! **chuckle**

Petavius

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

It wasn't shot in the best of conditions...dodging clouds, but I'm surprised that it turned out this nicely.

Hi all,

This turned out pretty well, even after resampling it by 1.6x.
