Russia redux

There is exactly the same amount of evidence that Trump was "beholden to" Putin, or that he was a puppet with Putin pulling the strings as there is evidence of massive election fraud.  Look, there is a lot to not like about Trump.  If one is inclined to believe that he was a Russian stooge throughout his term, then I would say that that partisanship has blinded that person exactly to the same degree that partisanship leads some to believe that the election was stolen.

I personally do not believe that Trump believes the election was stolen.  Trump used that lie to rally his sycophants.  I personally do not believe that Clinton believes that Trump was a Russian stooge.  HRC is using that lie to rally her sycophants.  The symmetry is remarkable.

I think if there's any financial gain that needs to be explored, it's Trump's real estate ventures in Russia. Trump, according to his staffers, believes that Russian Oligarchs control real estate in Russia and Putin controls them, hence Trump's offer to provide a penthouse condo to Putin in Trump's planning of a behemoth building: "President Donald Trump’s company planned to give a $50 million penthouse at Trump Tower Moscow to Russian President Vladimir Putin as the company negotiated the luxury real estate development during the 2016 campaign, according to four people, one of them the originator of the plan."
"Two US law enforcement officials told BuzzFeed News that Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer at the time, discussed the idea with a representative of Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s press secretary."

PS: I'd also like to evidence of any substantive financial gain of Hillary for her podcast...

I'd like to know what Trump did with Lincoln's bust:

PS What did the Clinton's "steal"?

For example, some states have "followed Trump's lead" and all but ignored masks and lockdowns, like South Dakota, (one of my kids lives there).  Some of these states, like SD, have high death rates (but no higher than many still locked-down Northeastern states).  Would the fiercely independent South Dakotans have embraced mask wearing and lock downs under president Biden or President Bush?  I doubt it.   A while back I posted a chart that had one of the pandemic's impacts, Deaths/M, divided by red and blue states.  It is slightly dated, but reproduced below.  To some extent, the red states are presumably more influenced by Trump than the blue states.  The virus does not seem to care.  Jim
The botched vaccine roll-out by the Trump "administration" has made thing worse, too. No declaration of a national emergency. No FEMA/National Guard. No funding for state distribution. Not to mention a complete denial of the covid death count as "fake news" by Trump. His right wing media was/is complicit by rarely, if ever, noting the deaths, 400,000 now and projected to be at 700,000 by late spring. But what's 400,000 to right-to-lifers anyway? It's obviously no skin off their nose...

It is as bad as the Biden team says it is and the vaccine distribution is nowhere near what it ought to be. Ya gotta get FEMA, the military and the guard involved for a mass efort. I think we'll start seeing that now as Biden's team begins to kick in his plans...
