I've been known to cause a few epic rants that would have earned some Ranties over the years. I do think we'll need a longer scale, say up to ten Ranties if this pace keeps up until election day. Maybe we could hand out awards at the end of the year like "most Ranties earned for the least amount of words used in an OP". grin I forget what Russ's post was a while back. It has a good shot at winning, but there is still lots of time before the election.

I just got back from observing and now I'm looking at this forum to get sleepy. The comet was pretty good, but we had some high cloudiness in the NW part of the sky which distracted from it making it less contrasty. I wouldn't say easily visible naked eye, but it was there. The kids could all see it just fine. Awesome in my 15x50 binos. The nucleus was very bright and sharp and the tail went on about 3º. I even looked at it through my dob with a 31 Nagler giving me about a 1.3º FOV. The seeing was great for Michigan and Jupiter and Saturn put on a great show, too.

There were about thirty folks there and we all social distanced. Lots of car headlights driving through and when folks were leaving after the comet hid behind the trees.

I'm sick the the "owning the libs" mentality. The calling out by name bullying just plain old sucks, and I tried to call him out when he did it, but how to you keep up with his average of ten original posts in a day that nobody usually comments on? It should have been a clue for him to maybe lighten up a bit, but like his hero in the WH he thinks that would be a sign of weakness. As for me, I'm glad he doesn't think of me as a friend, the feeling has been mutual for a while now, ever since he threatened to come to Michigan and beat me up. But, believe me when I say I wish I could attend a star party with the rest of you knuckleheads.  grin
