Mars April 8

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Mars from April 8, breezy but decent seeing. This side of Mars shows so little when Mars gets small.

Musings on a DSO camera

Posted By Paul Maxson

I'm sitting here kicking around the idea of a DSO camera, trying to decide between the Starshoot from Orion and DSI II from Meade......I can't think of a better place to ask for advice.

Mars April 12, 2006

Hi all,

Here is an even smaller Mars. The NPC is bright and a cloud (?) appears over the SPR.

Not the sun....but the moon...

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here are a couple of lunar images that turned out ok. They are fairly well known features.

Mars April 13, 2006

Hi all,

It's been a few days since my last post, but rest assured, I have about 15 more to go. Seeing was not great here, but the NPC is visible.

Piggybacking on a Mewlon 250

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to piggback a small (80-100mm) refractor on a Mewlon 250? The Mewlon is on a Temma 200 mount.

Thanks!!

Robert,

Wonderful!

Anybody know when Mars' clears the sun and becomes a morning object again?

Mars April 16, 2006

Hi all,

Just when you thought all the Mars images were all but gone....here's one from mid April. I still have a dozen or more to process. In this one, Solis Lacus is just coming onto the disk.

More to follow...

Hi all,

Another Mars, getting smaller and I'm getting closer to being finished (finally!!). Solis Lacus and the NPC are well seen.
