Mars April 26, 2006

Hi all,

Mars dips below 5" for this image! I only have 7 more to go so I am going to concentrate on those for now and finish my Mars season. Then I can get on to other images.

Mars April 30, 2006

Hi all,

I had a couple of days of good seeing at the end of April, as is seen in this image from April 30. From what I can tell, the May 1 images I am working on now are even better.

Orion Starshoot first light....

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I am really excited here!!! This is first light with my Starshoot. The scope is a Mewlon250 with an Atik .5 compressor which gives about F/7. I really want to thank Alan Smallbone for his great set of instructions in the AstroPhoto Insight magazine. This made the process ohhhhhhh so much easier!! I have a lonnnnnnng ways to go, but the important thing is seeing some form of success on first light. Now if I can figure out how to get the reddish tint off the stars. smile

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

My last 3 Mars!!

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here are my last three images of Mars from this opposition. When I added them up I came to exactly 200 images!! Wow! What a ride. Can't wait for Mars to peek his head from behind the sun in the morning sky later.

EM200 Setting Circles

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Has anyone had a problem getting objects centered using the setting circles on the EM200 mount? I have excellent polar alignment and most recent RA and DEC. Typically I just do an off-set from bright stars but even so the objects I'm looking for are never in the eyepiece field, in fact seldom in the finder field. Short of getting the goto panel (an option) I'm not sure what to do. I almost think the dovetail does not line exactly on the mount's axis'. Any thoughts?
