Saturn April 30, 2006

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm still finishing my planetary images from April, almost done only one more Saturn set to go. This set turned out pretty nice I think.

Hi all,

Nearing the end of my Saturn run with another one from early May. I need to remember to use the 610nm red filter more next year!!

Saturn May 3, 2006

Hi all,

About 2 or 3 Saturn left to process. Seeing was decent for this one. My last 3-4 images and I FINALLY learn how to get the crepe ring. **chuckle**

M13

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Second light with my Starshoot camera on M13. I did 30 exposures of 10 seconds each (10x30). The image was processed with Nebulosity and came out ok, but I see now that the exposures should have been at least 30 seconds each. I corrected that in later imaging.. Unfortunately, we are having lots of clouds and storms here in Arizona so all I can do is plan the next session.... **chuckle**

Jupiter May 21 and 24

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Two of my better images of Jupiter this year, especially since Jupiter isn't very high out here.

H-a filter

Posted By Paul Maxson

Just out of curiousity, what H-a filters do you folks use for those really great images?

Thanks!!

My best M57 so far!

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I am not done with this image yet, but close...that's why there is no labeling, etc. I'm pretty proud of the way this turned out. It was shot with my Mewlon250 at F/7.5 with an Orion Starshoot camera. I shot 10x60 and 20x30 images, minor post processing in Maxim DL. DSO is getting addictive! Shot from my back yard with limiting mag of about 4.

Neptune/Triton

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Well, y'all got the teaser. Yes, the Starshoot is a planetary camera when it comes to shooting faint planetary moons. Here is a shot of Neptune/Triton. The Starshoot image is on the left, to the right is from StarryNight. Actually, I found it surprisingly easy. Uranus is next!

The Cat's Eye Nebula

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here is a shot of NGC 6543 (The Cat's Eye Nebula). It sure doesn't match up to the HST image I was looking at, but I guess it will pass.... **smile**. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Tonite I am hoping to tackle M27!!
