Loose your home loose your vote. It appears that Republicans are contemplating using forclosure lists to prevent voters from voting. Brilliant, Rove has been taking his vitamins! Just what I would expect from the Republican machine. Now if they can only find a way to keep out everyone making $250K or less they will be on a roll.

Hi Tom:
This reported scheme would be pretty bad, if it were true. Who can tell from this piece? I'm not saying that Michigan Republicans are above this, but why screw around with Michigan. Michigan is in the bag for Obama no matter what manipulations are made.
On a side point, I'm amazed that the article says the following:
"The federal suit, which Democratic lawyers acknowledged was based solely on unconfirmed news and Internet reports..."Can this possibly be true? If we have arrived at the point where Federal Court litigation is filed based upon unconfirmed news or internet reports, the wheels really have fallen off the civil justice system.
Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b) states as follows:
11(b)
Representations to the Court.By presenting to the court a pleading, written motion, or other paper — whether by signing, filing, submitting, or later advocating it —
an attorney or unrepresented party certifies that to the best of the person's knowledge, information, and belief, formed after an inquiry reasonable under the circumstances:(1) it is not being presented for any improper purpose, such as to harass, cause unnecessary delay, or needlessly increase the cost of litigation;
(2) the claims, defenses, and other legal contentions are warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying, or reversing existing law or for establishing new law;
(3)
the factual contentions have evidentiary support or, if specifically so identified, will likely have evidentiary support after a reasonable opportunity for further investigation or discovery; and
(4) the denials of factual contentions are warranted on the evidence or, if specifically so identified, are reasonably based on belief or a lack of information.
The litigators I know take Rule 11 very seriously. I can't imagine filing a lawsuit based upon an unsubstantiated news or internet report. Of course, I don't know any of the battalion of lawyers the major parties keep at the ready for stuff like this. They probably make run-of-the-mill mob lawyers look like Abraham Lincoln.
