Hi Jon.
My CatsPerch will go up to about 38" easily, though I rarely use it that high. It will even go to about 46", if you remove and replace the removable seat dowel to get past the folding metal leg brace.
I find that when I'm pointing that high in the sky, within say 20 or 30 degrees of zenith, I can comfortably stand. To me, the benefit is mainly to avoid bending over or squatting.
I heartily recommend the CatsPerch. I built one for Floyd and myself.

A little warm, late day sunshine on the red rock,
with dramatic looking clouds overhead.
A powerful and evocative image.

Yes indeed, it was a great night Rod.
A bit overdue though, after months of bad conditions.
I confirmed that L.A. was, in fact, covered by fog.
Besides muting the light dome, I think we lost a lot of scattered light overhead.
The shotgun fire settled down after you left...
must've been the air strike I called in.
Either that or you were just out of range. wink

Well, you've got that right, Stephen...
Planetary nebulae sure cry out more more magnification.
A 5mm Radian would certainly be a good choice.
A 5.2mm Pentax XL would be another great option.
This is THE place to buy your used astro equipment safely.
There are things I will buy on Pee-bay, but optical equipment is not one of them.
