Capitol Police Officers Sue Trump/Right Wing Groups Over January 6 Insurrection

"The civil rights suit alleges Trump, acting in concert with groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, engaged in acts of domestic terrorism designed to unlawfully keep him in power despite losing the 2020 election."

Complete Chaos and Getting Worse, so says H.R. McMaster

What's your take on it?

I've yet to have any of my buddies say, this guy did it right.

So have at it.

I'll expect the sound of crickets.  wink
So would your "many" veteran "friends" have reacted the same way if Trump did the same thing? Just remind them he wanted to do just that, only earlier. Just like he did when he split and left the Kurds with butts hanging in the wind so the Turks would slaughter 'em and they did. Nevermind that the Kurds held hundreds of ISIS fighters in jails and they got out after the Kurds got wiped out. Maybe some of those are the same ones who blew themselves up yesterday. Why don't you ask your "many" veteran friends about that, too?...

McMaster on Trump: "McMaster, Mostly Silent Until Now, Says Trump Is ‘Aiding and Abetting Putin’s Efforts’
“This sustained campaign of disruption, disinformation, and denial, is aided by any leader who doesn’t acknowledge it,” President Trump’s former national security adviser said.
I wonder what your "many" veteran friends have to say about Trump's statement regarding Dubya's invasion of Iraq: "The greatest mistake ever made."
Do you agree with it?, and how about your veteran friends? Why don't you ask them and report back? I doubt you have them same answer of the other resident con here who says, time after time, that he  still "doesn't know enough about" to even formulate an opinion...

And here is a clue for those clueless out there, like yourself.  I don't have to agree with McMaster on everything, I don't have to agree w/Trump on everything, I don't have to agree with Greg, Mel, Steve, Darian, or anyone else to respect what they say and yet sometimes disagree with what they say.

My veteran friends would probably disagree with the statement that Trump made, as do I.

I was for the war, and I don't look back and say, it was a disaster.  I look back at what the Obama admin. did including Joe Biden when they let the ISIS killers in and essentially did nothing.  That is on them.

I'm not like weasels on the left, you included of course who vote for wars and then say "I didn't vote for the war", as the left all did.

Hilary Clinton is a perfect example.

So is Joe Biden.

They both voted for the Iraq War.

So then, what do you say about Biden and Hilary?  Were you for the war?
I was opposed to the war in Iraq but not to the war in Afghanistan and I've made that clear throughout the years in this forum. I believe that if the Bush administration had shared the assessment of the foreign intelligence services with Clinton and Biden and others at the time, then their votes of support would have been votes of opposition...

Shocking that you'll make excuses for everyone on the left on every issue.

Who would have thought THAT?  LOL

By the way, as sitting Senators, I'm CERTAIN they had complete access to all the intelligence.

If they didn't choose to read it, that's on them.

Pathetic weasels who couldn't just accept their votes after the fact, but isn't that typical of ALL Leftist Democrats?
"By the way, as sitting Senators, I'm CERTAIN they had complete access to all the intelligence."
BS! That would depend on which committees they served on and on which inel reports they received. And, even assuming they got all the US intel reports, those would not include those from France, Italy or Germany among others...

You're utterly ignorant when it comes to knowing much of anything.

The problem with Democrats like yourself is that you usually are happy to get into wars, but then when you blow it, and you always do, you then blame Republicans.

Got us into Korea? A UN resolution. You know what that is, right? You know we're bound by it, right?
Got us into Vietnam? "U.S. involvement in Vietnam began with Eisenhower." https://www.cnn.com/2014/06/20/us/vietnam-war-five-things/index.html
Ever heard of the Biden Lugar Measure? "Biden, perhaps because he had seen that the case for war was flimsy, joined with two Republicans on his committee—Richard Lugar and Chuck Hagel—in a bipartisan effort to restrict Bush’s authority to invade Iraq. They proposed an alternative to Bush’s resolution that would only allow Bush to attack Iraq for the purpose of destroying WMD and only after seeking UN approval. If the UN turned Bush down, he would have to come back to Congress and prove Saddam posed a WMD threat so “grave” that only military action could eliminate it. Bush couldn’t just hop into war on his own." "The Biden-Lugar measure began attracting support from Democrats and Republicans, and it was privately supported by Secretary of State Colin Powell. No surprise, Bush was furious about the measure, and he told Republican Sen. Trent Lott that he didn’t want a measure that tied his hands. According to Lott, Bush gave him an order: “Derail the Biden legislation and make sure its language never sees the light of day.”

Oh, and the above makes interesting reading about the Cheney lie that got us into Iraq, too...

Your assertion that we entered the war under Eisenhower is utterly absurd.  We didn't even have Advisors there until John Kennedy was elected.

Diem wasn't even Assassinated until 1963, and we never even entered a military engagement with the Viet Cong Until '64 when our boats were torpedoed by the DRV

It strikes me that the first actual military engagement which involved the US was the Gulf of Tonkin.  That was the very first time when we engaged with the Viet Cong military with our bombing raids using our aircraft.

Are you familiar with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution you dipshit?

Meatheads who read a quick snippet on the internet and then post a link, show their abject foolish ignorance.

You really are the Cliff Claven of the forum and you prove it every time you open your mouth and stick your foot in it.

Let me Suggest a pretty good book to you.  It is titled "Vietnam, a History" and its written by Stanley Karnow.

He takes the reader from the beginnings of the war in IndoChina to the end when we left.

You might actually learn something and grow your brain you buffoon.

Then again I forgot, you don't read books, you read headlines.

Any fool that posits that the Republicans got us into the war in Vietnam proves what an absolute ignoramus he is.

You earned 5 big stars today for your abject stupidity!
The Gulf of Tonkin was made up BS. "By the time that Johnson signed the Tonkin Gulf resolution on August 10, several senior officials—and probably the president himself—had concluded that the attack of August 4 had likely not occurred." There wasn't any attack.  https://millercenter.org/the-presidency/educational-resources/tonkin-gulf
Oh, and Eisenhower: "President Eisenhower sent some 700 military personnel as well military and economic aid to the government of South Vietnam." https://www.jfklibrary.org/learn/education/teachers/curricular-resources/high-school-curricular-resources/military-advisors-in-vietnam-1963
