Complete Chaos and Getting Worse, so says H.R. McMaster

Your assertion that we entered the war under Eisenhower is utterly absurd.  We didn't even have Advisors there until John Kennedy was elected.

Diem wasn't even Assassinated until 1963, and we never even entered a military engagement with the Viet Cong Until '64 when our boats were torpedoed by the DRV

It strikes me that the first actual military engagement which involved the US was the Gulf of Tonkin.  That was the very first time when we engaged with the Viet Cong military with our bombing raids using our aircraft.

Are you familiar with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution you dipshit?

Meatheads who read a quick snippet on the internet and then post a link, show their abject foolish ignorance.

You really are the Cliff Claven of the forum and you prove it every time you open your mouth and stick your foot in it.

Let me Suggest a pretty good book to you.  It is titled "Vietnam, a History" and its written by Stanley Karnow.

He takes the reader from the beginnings of the war in IndoChina to the end when we left.

You might actually learn something and grow your brain you buffoon.

Then again I forgot, you don't read books, you read headlines.

Any fool that posits that the Republicans got us into the war in Vietnam proves what an absolute ignoramus he is.

You earned 5 big stars today for your abject stupidity!
You're being an obtuse moron here for comparing an American presence of 700 military personnel in Vietnam under Eisenhower to a token presence in Bolivia. Only an idiot would do that. The "official" start up of hostilities may have began with the bogus Gulf of Tonkin incident, but it was well under way before that. The US air force had already been flying combat missions over Vietnam in 1961.

Virtually every book I've ever read about Vietnam and every person whom I've discussions with, would concede that under John Kennedy, military presence became ramped up. He was a Democrat in case you don't know that.

The first military air operations engaged in by US forces began in 1962 under Kennedy.  He was a Democrat.

Johnson's Def. Sec. Robert McNamara was instrumental in getting US Forces over to Southeast Asia, and military equipment as well.

After that Johnson really began to engage with the air power which began with regular coordinated bombings in Vietnam through the middle '60s including bombing missions in Laos.

Since you're obviously a sage, let me just posit this little factoid to you.

Books have been written about Vietnam, one was titled "McNamara's War".

There is a reason for that.

For you to contend that the Republicans got us into the war in Vietnam, is simply an indication of your ignorance on the subject.

Now I'm done dealing with buffoons like yourself.
Before you cut and run:
"The year 1961 saw a new American president, John F. Kennedy, attempt to cope with a deteriorating military and political situation in South Vietnam. The Viet Cong (VC) with assistance from North Vietnam made substantial gains in controlling much of the rural population of South Vietnam. Kennedy expanded military aid to the government of President Ngô Đình Diệm, increased the number of U.S. military advisors in South Vietnam, and reduced the pressure that had been exerted on Diệm during the Eisenhower Administration to reform his government and broaden his political base."
" The Kennedy Administration debated internally about introducing U.S. combat troops into South Vietnam, but Kennedy decided against ground soldiers. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) began assisting Montagnard irregular forces, American pilots began flying combat missions to support South Vietnamese ground forces,"

When I watch the movie, "The Caine Mutiny" on the Turner Classic Movie channel, I think of Rich as being like captain Queeg. When I read a typical Richie rant that goes on and on, it reminds me of the courtroom scene wherein Queeg insists that a hypothetical duplicate key definitely exists despite all evidence that it doesn't and Queeg insists he's proved it through "geometric logic." Like Queeg, he definitely gone off the deep end...

I wonder why we weren't "winning the war" when McMaster and Holt and the other "generals" were in charge? Maybe they could answer that one...

You ignore history because you want to white-wash Trump's disastrous foreign policy decisions that lead us here, you fool.

OMG, you can't make up what a fool you are.

Trump facilitated the release of 5,000 Taliban prisoners, you fool.

I wouldn't want to confuse the resident right-wing ignoramus with facts, but you really ought to pull your head out of Trump's back-side.

Trump wanted to invite the Taliban to Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11 and praised them as "tough negotiators," you fool.

According to your idiot logic, I suppose things would have gone better under Trump even though he bragged about not needing or having an exit plan?

Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me. LOL

No, I take that back. I'm at the point where I expect nonsense and dumbassery from you continuously.

You never fail to disappoint, now do you?
“I started the process. All the troops are coming back home. They couldn’t stop the process. Twenty-one years is enough, don’t we think? Twenty-one years. They [the Biden administration] couldn’t stop the process. They wanted to, but it was very tough to stop the process.”

The following is brilliant. It's Mike Pompeo, arguing with earlier Pompeo, in a split-screen.

Mike Pompeo is trying to rewrite history with Afghanistan. But don’t worry, we use the magic of TV to set the record straight.

Oh man, that's too much!!!
Should be required viewing for all Trumptoids, sitting congressman and continuing replays on all mainstream news sources since you'll never see it on MAGA media...

I was watching the news yesterday when a woman standing in line at a mask mandate meeting at a school district in Tennessee interrupts a physician advocating wearing masks during an interview with a news crew and blurts out something to the effect of, "you know the deaths of the marines in Afghanistan is more important than wearing masks!" The physician who is also the mother of two kids who tested positive for covid in the school district had to deal with that mentality as well as that of others who showed up to protest at the district meeting that didn't live in the area and didn't have any kids.
These are brainwashed MAGA media Trumptoids pure and simple...

What has Joe Biden given to the Taliban?

Well, we know what Trump gave to the Taliban. Their leader and he busted him out of prison to do it...
