You are going to really enjoy your scope.I had one just like it and had more fun with it than I do now with a much larger scope. In fact I regret selling it as I progressed with the deadly aperature fever disease. Easy to transport and easy to use. If you have a laptop pickup a copy of "The sky" and remotely use that to operate the scope. It is a blast having the superior software and this scope.

Very impressive!! Has anyone taken your temperature lately. I thought when looking at the photo that I could detect a slight flush to your face indicating the possibilty of a slight touch of aperature fever. Beware as it has been known to be highly contageous. "Uh oh" I think I am feeling a little warm even as I write this.

Thanks for some great lunar images. Ann seem's very talented. I also enjoyed the Lunar "nuts and bolts" section. Nobody should have two AP's in he same househoild although I wish I had what you have and that you had something better-except there really isn't anything better.

Light pollution filter with binoculars.

I have used them and found their utility to increase proportionally to the degree of light pollution present. Although I know they say you only need one filter as the brain will average out the two images I have found that in extreme situations that using two filters seemed to give me a little better contrast. Perhaps it is just my imagination but that was what I found.

I would just like to say that your Observatory and site location is just absolutely beautiful. I noticed the pillar from ground level all the way up to our mount! I wish that I had your Observatory and that you had one better although I just cannot see how that could be possible.

Thanks for a great discussion. On more than one occasion I have heard people talking about the merits of different tubes using the same Objective lens. Many say that everything is in the lens and that the tube is just something you look down. "At night all that matters is what you see in the eyepiece and who cares what the scope looks like in the daylight" I have always loved the build quality of scopes like AP, Tak, TBM, Televue and now you have gave me one more reason to appreciate these scopes. As usual Barry your comments come with content and useful information.
