Hi group!

I frequently enjoy the hires images and posts here, but are not often able to contribute with own images, as I am dedicated to deep sky imaging usually.

This month I had a chance to get data on Saturn at good conditions with my webcam setup.

I should have collected more frames in the R and IR, as the details really popped out there.

I like the "false color" images with narrowband filters, they supply really new unknown features.

How is the noise and blooming, compared to the ST10XME?

First M42 with ST8XE

The center looka a bit too orange.
A shot taken recently with a D60 digicam at sunny whitebalance shows the center more to the blue, see:

The H-beta and Oxygen emission lines are sometimes shown more as green, sometimes more as blue, depending on the color filter design.

D60 and the "screwy" russian lens

I am already using my D60 since 8 months and am quite satisfied too, see my example of M42 area with a 4" APO refractor (and the following images):

In the far red the sensitivity is a bit low, so H-alpha is more challenging...

Core of M42 LRGB

Nice image, Ron!

Enclosed I show a image with a similar scale from this week, taken with the D60 at quite good seeing (all 6 stars of the trapezium clearly visible).

3 x 30 sec at ISO200 with the C11 at f/5 combined with 3 x 30 sec with the C11 at f/10;

adaptive LR deconvolution in ImagesPlus; noise reduction by Neatimage; levels, curves, unsharp mask, saturation increased in Photoshop; The color balance was untouched.
It's interesting, how much shorter your exposures have been with the ST1001E.
