Me & the little ones...

Ivan, you were the only imager that night that didn't curse or swear at his gear. I LMAO all night, every time someone cried out, "Sh_t!" or " WHAT the f*#k!"
Looks like we have some new moon nights just ahead, and a well-placed 4th of July! Hope we get some drier weather to celebrate with my friend. I now have my EPs set for the new DOB.
Pic from the same night.

Siebert Starsplitter, BO/TMB, or UO HD ortho?

Posted By Alan Koff

Love both my 3.9 Starsplitter and my UO 5 & 6HD Orthos. I get about the same FOV with these 3, of course the 6 gives a tad more. My f/4.7 gets about 308X out of the Siebert, which is about as far as I have pushed my 10" DOB so far.
Also just got a 15 Ultra from Harry and have one of his 26 Performance EPs as well.
Good luck with what ever you decide on.
I know I'm always looking after having had a wide selection of TVs a year or two back. After the UO Orthos the TVs had to go!

Comet C/2007 N3 (Lulin), 2009/1/23

Saw it this morning with 15x70 binos. Obvious and easy to find just west and north of Spica.
My 10" is ready for the fly-by, just hope my back is.

Galilean Satellite Events - June 9

I must be in a HOT streak!!! Viewing this AM was better than predicted, so I was not up too early, but wandered out at 5:15 ET and looked up. Dragged out the 10" and there they were. Both shadows(very close together) were nearing the limb, with Io in pursuit and the not-so GRS. I really could not make out the shadow eclipse of Io, but the seeing was steady and at 222x and the pre-dawn lght and moonlight I was surprised at how good it was.

Eyepiece recommendations for Orion 10" DOB

I find the Siebert Starsplitters and Ultras are quite pleasing in my XT10i.
I have a couple forsale if you are interested, one is an Ultra 22.5mm 2", the other is a Starsplitter 6.9mm.

Oh, I have 8 Sieberts, even have a 26mm Performance. If you check www.siebertoptics.com you will see that Harry builds quite a few fast EPs.

Do you like the new design?

Posted By Alan Koff

Nice surprise, but it seems to take a bit to much time loading different pages.
I'm sure that will be corrected. Also, look forward to looking through all the new options.
