M45, The Pleades, FS78

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is another attempt of M45 with my FS78 at F/6.4 (.8 reducer)thru a ST10xme. This time I shortened the subs to 5 mins and used Flats to help with the gradient and vignetting, awful BRIGHT for a NABG camera! It consists of 30 min Lum,
10 min ea. R,G, 15 min.B. Thanks for any advise, Tom

Sweet Home California

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is a new composite of images of NGC1499, the California Nebula. It is 40 min.=HA
15=R, 15=G, 15=B. It is shot thru my FS-78 at F/6.4 with a ST10xme. I had to use flats due to vignetting but the blue channel still shows some gradient. Anyway... I thought that I would post it. Thanks, Tom

Leo's Triplet last night

Posted By Tom Osterholt

This is last nights image composite of Leo's Triplet. It is shot thru my TOA-150 at F/5.8 (.8 reducer). I started with my FS-78 but after the first sub I realized that it would fit in the FOV of the TOA so I started over. It consists of; Lum= 75min.,1X R,G,B,= 15min each 2X binned. Flats were used but for some reason the blue channel never seems to match the flat or something? It always leaves gradient which messes up the balance. I am taking several 1X flats and meridian combining them and then again the same with 2X, I don't think that I need to take separate flats for each color channel, Do I???? Anyway... any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Tom
