I am a visual only observer--used to do astrophotography but now I have no wish to blow $50k. Some time ago I sold most of my high dollar APOs to free up some funds, in anticipation of the financial market turmoil. At the same time Celestron was doing a promotion of the CPC line. I found a store demo CPC9.25 and was able to get it for less than $2000 after all discounts.
Based on my memory, is the scope as good as the AP155 I once had on planets? No. Is it as contrasty on clusters? No. Is the star test perfect? No (but not bad at all). Is it better on DSO? Well, the image is brighter.
I bought the CPC knowing full well it is nowhere as optically superior as the high dollar APOS... for crying out loud the whole scope costs a lot less than a decent mount that can support the AP155. Am I satisfied? You bet... and I don't need someone to tell me my CPC is not as good as their APO... I have owned a handful of them (see my feedback ) Best of all, I had FUN observing and not worrying about whether I would scratch its paint.
The funny thing is, this astro-snobbery NEVER manifests itself in star parties. We all share scopes and stories, not once did I hear anything like "my APO is better than your Meade". Perhaps people have better things to do than bickering online?
ps: I have NO idea where the CPC is made in. Never bothered to look.

Ha that's nothing. My car was low on oil the other day and I had to MAIL ORDER some 10w60 synthetics. I can't believe none of those chain auto parts stores stock this oil.

From my favorite speeding forum (www.radardetector.net) some forum members have reported being enticed into races by undercover highway patrol. Mustangs and Corvettes were reportedly used.
I'm not sure about these claims, but I have witnessed C6s being used as undercover highway patrol and conducting roadside tax collection.

The stock 335i is rated for about 300bhp, 300ft-lb of torque. Some auto rags and Edmunds.com have dyno'ed the motor to about 330bhp.
With a $1000 (and a voided warranty) chip tune to increase the turbo boost, 400bhp and 400ft-lb are commonplace.
Even at stock form the 335i can match the acceleration numbers of the E46 M3, due to the early onset of torque. With a chip tune and competent driver reports have them matching and beating the new V8 E90 M3. Handling, on the other hand, is a different matter. Power is only a small part of the M philosophy.
I would say tuned or not, the 335i is no match for your Roush Mustang. Now if you run into one of those 600+bhp supercharged V8 M3....

4000 lbs of American steel, with GM-sourced brakes (i.e. garbage), should make these lane cutters wish they took the bus that day.
In that car I had been hit more times than I can count, mostly in parking lots and in bumper-to-bumper traffic. In many cases they drove home without a bumper while there was nary a scratch on my car.
And yeah all the people that hit me were women :S

In this case, you get to use the scope, someone gets one at a reasonable premium, and A-mart gets the money. If that's not a win-win-win arrangement I don't know what is.
