Gladio 315 Dall-Kirkham

Posted By Stefan Lammel

Paolo has just updated his website with more info and some superb images.

http://www.lazzarotti-optics.com/main.html

The new Plato image taken in Bangkok is a knockout, craterlet counters will enjoy this one! 8O
As well as a 10" version it seems there is also a 16" Gladio in the pipeline.

BTW I had no problems with popups etc so the earlier problems seem to have been sorted out.

The Sea of Clouds

Posted By Stefan Lammel

Hi Alan,

This is a really beautiful image and the restrained & subtle processing is just superb. Its bordering on Astro art and yet it is full of great detail. Would you mind letting me in on your processing technique with this one please? Having just started with the DMK I am learning there is more than one route to a successful image and I would like to know how you get this look.

I am also enjoying your new website - glad to see its up and running at last wink

Regards,
Stefan

Mare Undarum Domes?

Posted By Stefan Lammel

These features do show up on a couple of USGS hi-res LOIV images. I just posted this one to the LPOD gallery http://www.lpod.org/coppermine/albums/userpics/4178_h1_mare%20undarum.jpg and heres a close up of both images http://www.pbase.com/slammel/image/73196065

Perhaps the GLR group will be able to shed some light on wether these are domes or swells. Chuck Woods has also noticed between 3 and 5 concentric craters (including some strange ones) some not on his list in the LO image, its amazing what is still to be discovered in both LO and amateur images!

Stefan

Meton area and a Panorama from Baja

Posted By Stefan Lammel

Great to see you back Mike! This is a very nice shot and I look forwards to seeing more of your great images when the weather co-operates. Too bad about Baja, it must have been very disappointing. The panorama looks amazing.

Mare Frigoris

Nice one Richard, you have caught the Gartner Rille well and also the trickier Sheepshanks Rille is visible here too. Blue sky is also at a premium here in the UK so I sympathize, some clear nights would be nice too, so far nothing this lunation!

Good to see you have a web presence now, I'll enjoy looking through these and the new ones to come when the weather finally allows you to unleash that wonderful scope once again.

Last nights Crescent Moon

Posted By Stefan Lammel

Thanks very much all!

I will have to have another go at the one that got away, if I go for next months 1.1 day crescent it will be a real challenge and I would have to look for a suitable location with a clear western horizon. What sweet retribution it would be! smile

Stefan

A nice result Mike despite the seeing, really like the processing - is this with Registax wavelets? Good to see you back to some imaging, that was some dry spell! :S
