I heard this story on my local radio news a few hours ago. It's an interesting article. It could explain why the melting at the Arctic is extensive compared to the Antarctic.

Crushing new taxes

We all new Obama was going to stick it to the so called rich but I doubt anyone knew it would be this hard. Individuals making more than 200K and couples making more than 250K will see the Federal tax rate increased to as much as 39.6%. Everyone knew that going into the election. I doubt, however, that anyone knew he was also going to take away their deductions.

"Couples making more than $250,000 would face new limits on the amount of deductions they could take on their taxable income, including deductions for mortgage interest, charitable donations and state and local taxes."

How is that fair?

Here's my advice to a couple who's combined income exceeds 250K: quit one job or get divorced and live together.

Here some more BS. "Some $526 billion in revenue from carbon pollution permits ..."

IMO Obama will take this country from recession to depression. Those of you who voted for him won't be able to blame it on Bush much longer, although I know you will. After this budget is passed it will be all on Obama.

That was a really good article. He brings up many points that I have been wondering about. Specifically, how can we raise taxes on individuals and businesses during a deep recession when what we need is job creation?

That's not surprising, it's been politally left leaning for a while now. I've used it for non political things and sometimes it's good for that. If you do use it I think it's best to stick to sourced articles. That way you can find the original referenced sources yourself.

Climate article from 1755

I recently purchased the February 1755 issue of the Gentleman's Magazine. This was a magazine published in England during the 1700s and 1800s. I purchased this issue because it had an article on a years worth of weather data from colonial Maryland and the readings were recorded about 15 miles from my weather station. It also had an article title "Causes of Warm Winters and Cold Summers" that I thought you guys might find it interesting to read. If you like I can photo the Maryland article as well and post it.

One note. The letter s appears similiar to an f if it is lower case at the beginning or within a word. If the s is at the end of a word it looks like a s.

What should we do

I have been reading torture posts the last few days. The opinions cover the entire spectrum, which is good since this is a discussion forum. So I'm wondering how imminent and big does a potential attack have to be before using torture? I figure at some point every president would authorize an “any means necessary” order. I don't really have a problem with something like that and wouldn't hold it against a president either. In my mind they would be doing their job by protecting the country. I have a feeling President Obama will face this scenario during his term. Any thoughts?

Well you just know the national socialist Joe Ogoebbels is jumping for joy. He knows that as soon as that useful idiot Frankin takes the Minnesota they'll have a super majority. I think Joe Ogoebbels will feel right at home in a one party system. Hey Joe, what you gonna do with all those who dare to think differently than you?
