Couple, three more forum related issues

Posted By Greg Shaffer

1. When looking at the forum list it shows the last post in each forum. Clicking on the posters name should take you to their profile. It doesn't do anything.

2. If you visit someone's profile and click on their forum history it lists their post history but attributes ALL of them to me instead of them.

3. When reading posts it shows the posters real name and location but when you click on quoted reply it shows only that you are replying to their login name and attributes the quoted portion to their log in instead of their real name.

I have check all three reported issues. None appear to have been fixed

Clicking on the name of the last poster in any given forum when viewing the forum selection list still does nothing. It should take me to their profile right?

2. If you visit someone's profile and click on their forum history it lists their post history but attributes ALL of them to me instead of them.

I visited your profile and clicked on your post history and the "posted by" column shows my name not yours.

3. When reading posts it shows the posters real name and location but when you click on quoted reply it shows only that you are replying to their login name and attributes the quoted portion to their log in instead of their real name.

I just went to the politics forum and hit "quoted reply" on James Lacey, the quoted section in my reply is labeled as being posted by "Fuzzy Avocado" which is his login name instead of his real name.

There is nothing to hate even more now

1- prices are no longer shown, which means it requires opening each individual item, then scrolling down to see the price, just to find out if it is even of interest. Hopefully this can be restored. (A thought: Since text can be wrapped, narrowing the title column could still keep rows the same height, since the photo column could still be the same height.)

2- On the old version, the photos could be enlarged using finger motions.  On the new, they can't, and the enlargement, which again requires an additional step to open, isn't always large enough. I also can only access one photo per item..

Hope these can be addressed.

Thanks!

Regarding #1.....go to "My Account" and change the settings to display the price, works just like the old version of AM....you define what you want to see

Regarding #2 I have not played with that yet.

Is Astromart unsecured?

Mine was that way as well.....but it redirects to https without problem. You may need to check your browser security settings.

Can't get replies from sellers...

Posted By Greg Shaffer

I received a couple of ad notifications earlier for the 1st time in a couple days. I noted neither of them were blanks and that both allowed direct response to the seller when hitting reply so progress is being made smile

If you have been rating all your transactions as you should then they would be found under ratings received and ratings given. If not then you may be out of luck.

RECENT FORUM ACTIVITY

Posted By Greg Shaffer

When viewing the forum list if you look at the right side you will note that the last topic to be updated is shown with date time and poster name.

If it is unread the topic title will be bolded in blue.

Once you open a particular forum all the new unread topics are in bolded blue.

Since I have not found a way to mark all forums as read in one pass it requires a bit of work on our part to get things on track. IE make a pass thru all the forums and open at least the most recent topic so it gets marked as read. This is because under the new software ALL last read pointers started out as unread.

Once you have done that back out and refresh the forum list.....you will note that none of the listed last posts are bolded. From that point on the only bolded ones you should see have new posts.

All that said, with all the work that has been going on with bug fixes, updates and added features for the last week I have noticed that the last read pointers have been lost several times.

Given the way it works now there really should be an option that lets you mark any given forum as totally read much like CN has......but until that happens the above process is the only way I know of to sync your last reads with the system.
