This is a left-leaning professor whining because his side does not have the Supreme Court locked down. It is partisan hit-pieces like this that sully (politicize) the reputation of the Court, not any speech by ACB.

Jim,
While there's obviously a case to be made for the argument of a de facto approval by the conservative majority of the court for a decision of the constitutionality of the Texas law on abortion by their tortuous reasoning behind their decision, I think the larger issue here is exactly what the author is addressing in his article. That is, at a time of negative views of the supreme court by majorities of those in multiple polls that certain members of the supreme court are partisan hacks, where do the members in question, obviously acutely aware of the controversy swirling around them, choose to take their road show to? Amy takes hers to the conservative center that is named after the man who arguably got her the job in the first place. At this time, given the present circumstances of the conservative majorities decision on the Texas law, choosing that particular venue packed with a conservative audience, is the very antithesis of combatting the view that such justices are primarily partisan in their decision making processes. So, in other words, Barrett is on the road to dispel the notion of what the majority of those polled believe and then she turns around and heads for a friendly conservative audience in the McConnell center. Geez!...
