The national average for gas when Trump was in office was $2.11. With the projected decrease of 25 cents per gallon, the national average should be $3.09 or around 98 cents higher overall in the country than when Trump left office. Obviously, depending of what state you're in and what the local taxes happen to be, you'll be paying more or less than the national average...

PS: Let's talk Trumptoid drivers for a moment, shall we? Many of 'em in my red neck of the woods drive pickup trucks. In fact, I'm not sure one can be a full-fledged Trumptoid without at least one or two in the family. For the most part, the drivers of these tanks bully their way over to the fast lane on the freeway, speeding all the way, and proceed to tailgate and/or cutoff every other driver in "their way". Sound familiar, Greg? Trumptoids don't even attempt to drive at or near the speed limit, don't signal whenever changing lanes and the thought of slowing down to conserve gas never enters their thought processes. And the cheapest gas in my area is at costco at $4.15/gallon, thanks to the dollar or so in gas taxes for bogus road improvements by Trumptoid-owned or operated sub-contractors. Most of the other gas stations around here are at $4.67/gallon. You think that might slow down Trumptoids in their trucks, but no, they're pushing it all the time. The only time they're slow is when they have to turn around a corner or negotiate a curve, then it takes their brains quite a bit of time to move their arms to turn the steering wheel while their tanks slowly respond to a slow speed maneuver that the onboard engine and tranny computer-controlled driver-habit learning software can't quite comprehend because the driver so-seldom initiates the pattern in the first place. So, when they pay through the nozzle at the pump, and I see those $90-110 fills ups that they typically pay, it reminds me that Karma does, indeed exist...

Can you NOT do the simplest of Math?

Let me put up a bouncing ball for you to TRY and follow (hopefully you won't get lost along the way).

The price NOW according to YOU is $3.09 + 0.25 or $3.34 NOW.

Just to make you understand that is $1.23 HIGHER than your statement of $2.11 per gallon at the End of Trump's term in office.

So then Greg was 100% CORRECT when he said it is still more than $1.00 HIGHER

  Does that resonate with you?

I have to ask you this simple question.  Do you purposely try to make yourself look like a clueless buffoon when you write your resposes here?  wink

.
Oh Itchy Richie, Im talking about the projected decrease in the price of gasoline with the upcoming decrease of 25 cents per gallon, hence the title of the thread: "Gas Prices Relief On The Way". We're talking oil and gas futures and not those from yesterday or today. Does that resonate with you? Evidently not...

Oh, I see today that the projected national average for 2022 has now dropped to $2.88 or about 77 cents more than when Trump left office:

The point is the projected trend is downward  and "Gas Prices Relief Is On The Way"...

Lol!,
As if they weren't up under Trump!:
"The Evolution of Gasoline Prices"
"During the first two years of his first term, President Bush oversaw low and relatively stable gasoline prices. But prices were higher in his third year in office, and they continued to rise through his eighth year in office. Between his first and seventh year, the average annual price of gasoline doubled. No other president in modern history has overseen such a huge percentage rise in the price of gasoline."
"Something dramatic changed during President Obama’s first year in office. The price of gasoline plunged. If you are a fan of President Obama, you might give him credit for this drop in prices. But, as I will explain later, it’s not that simple."
"Like Bush, Obama initially experienced rising gasoline prices. Those prices reached a peak at the highest annual average of any president, before falling back down to the lowest level since Bush’s first term. The reasons for this are clearly understood, as I will explain below."
"Gasoline prices rose during each of President Trump’s first two years in office, reversing the two-year trend that ended Obama’s second term. By Trump’s third year in office, prices fell slightly, but then they fell sharply during his fourth year to a level almost the same as during Obama’s eighth year."

OPEC cut output during the pandemic when the economy slowed and have been reluctant to increase production even though demand has increased which in turn raises prices. It's not rocket science.

If you want to give credit to a president even though he personally had little to do with it how about the fact that in his first ten months of the Biden administration there is a net of +5,000,000 jobs created, more than Trump, W., and GHWB combined over their full terms.
True enough. Additionally:
"... the unemployment rate is 4.2 percent, down by a historic 2 full percentage points since President Biden took office."
"Prior to the American Rescue Plan, CBO estimated that the U.S. would not have a 4.2 percent unemployment rate until the end of 2024. So, this gives you that chart, just to give you a sense of exactly what the CBO projections were and how much more quickly we move to that unemployment rate."
"After the Great Recession, it took nine years for the United States to reach a 4.2 percent unemployment rate — just to give you a sense."
"Wages are also up. And thanks to the American Rescue Plan, the President and Congressional Democrats delivered significant tax cuts for families raising kids."
"On average, Americans have about $100 more in their pockets each month than they did last year, even accounting for higher prices. The United States is the only leading economy in the world where household income and the economy are stronger than they were before the pandemic."

Despite the GOP hoping for higher prices everywhere, the facts are:
"According to the International Energy Agency's latest market report, global oil supplies jumped by 1.4 million barrels per day in October, with the United States accounting for half that increase as Gulf of Mexico output recovered from the damage caused by Hurricane Ida in August.
The Paris-based agency said it expected a further boost of 1.5 million barrels per day over November and December, with the United States forecast to provide more of that increase than any other country."
"The world oil market remains tight by all measures, but a reprieve from the price rally could be on the horizon," it said."
"The IEA said it expected output to increase in the next two months despite the OPEC+ group of oil producing countries declining appeals from US President Joe Biden to ramp up production beyond a planned monthly increment of 400,000 barrels per day."
"The agency said it had raised its US output forecast by 300,000 barrels per day for the fourth quarter and by 200,000 barrels per day on average in 2022, as high prices encourage higher output."

$31 Billion Budget Surplus: What To Do With It

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Hmm:
"The predicted surplus is so large the office estimates California will surge past a constitutional limit on state spending by more than $14 billion. That could require Gov. Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers to either cut taxes, spend more money on schools and infrastructure or — perhaps the more popular choice in an election year — give rebates to taxpayers."
