Jupiter Sept 13, 2007

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm getting to my very last Jupiter images for this season as the planet is over hot roofs and lots of turbulence. I just received a SKYnyx 2-0C and this is my first light with it. I hadn't gotten all the bugs with the setup worked out until this morning so I'll be going at it again tonight. Now, on to Mars!!

Venus September 11, 2007

Hi all,

Here is a Venus I shot a couple of days ago. Seeing was only good enough for prime focus imaging. I can see that using a colour camera for UV imaging isn't very good. Looks like a mono camera may be in my future as well.

Hi all,

Here's a Jupiter from about 5 weeks ago (before it got too far west to be imaged for me)

M15 in a Mewlon 250

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

It's been quite a while since I posted anything DSO. I got out the past couple of nights with my SBIG ST10XME and Mewlon 250 to shoot images of M15. This is the lum layer, I still have the RGB to process. This is 60 minutes in 3 minute subs. I am anxious to try this with my new TAO-130 and will as soon as my friends in Washington State deliver the rest of the parts so I can mount the OTA to the mount. In the mean time all comments and suggestions welcomed.

Thanks!

M15 LRGB

Hi all,

I processed a short sequence I shot of M15 a few days ago. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The image sure can use flats, but since I'm planning to move to the TOA-130 when Anacortes ships the mounting rings, etc. for it, I'll wait for that. Mostly I'm practicing techniques and getting more familiar with Photoshop.

Thanks for looking.

Hi all,

Here are a series of Mars images shot on September 25. Seeing was fairly good.

Venus September 25, 2007

Hi all,

A while after shooting the above Mars images I took a try at Venus. I think I may have captured detail in UV, and the W.L. image looks pretty decent I think.

Hi all,

Really decent seeing for these images, of course this morning was totally cloudy. Ah well, back at it on Tuesday morning.

Hi all,

I'm caught up on my Mars images so I'm going back to my unprocessed Jupiter images. Here is one shot in decent, though hot, conditions of Jupiter and Ganymede. I also made a very short animation showing Ganymede coming out of Jupiter's shadow.
