Assuming you are a registered, paid member then you login, go to your account settings and specify what you want displayed when viewing ads....such as prices.

Welllllll.....unless you contacted Herb and explained what it was for, what you really did was extend your own registration by an additional year beyond what it already was smile

I thought it was funny that he interpreted that to mean I was going to pay his membership fee in his name.  However I'd be happy to pay the fee for him "in his name" if he wants to stay on.

After all, if he's that masochistic, who am I to deny him?  LOL!  grin

BTW, if someone else knows the steps involved in paying for someone else's membership, they're better than me, because I don't know how to do it.

  • If he wants to show me how to pay his membership fee, I'll do so, if he's too cheap.  tongue

Only three possible ways to do that.

1. You would need to have his login info (bad juju per the TOS)

2. or you would have to give Jim your card info (bad juju in general lol)

3. or you would have to call Herb directly to do it (depends on Herb's mood at the time lol)

And let me address your other nonsense, when You make the incorrect claim that I never criticize my side of the aisle.

That's an absurd statement because I've criticized the Repubs here plenty.

I destroyed Mitch McConnell one day and I got into it w/Russ who likes Mitch McConnell and I pointed out how MM has taken 10's of Billions of dollars for wasteful projects in his state.

I criticized Paul Ryan Immensely for lying to us and for his roles in the Bureaucracy in Wash. D.C.

In fact his reneging on promises made by him is WHY I left the Republican party.

So your BS rings hollow here.

I criticized MM when he gave Billions of Dollars to Thad Cochran a  complete loser when he had a conservative Repub running against him, by the name of Chris McDaniel.

I essentially ripped him to shreds when he didn't denounce Haley Barbour for putting out ads that accused McDaniel of being a bigot.

I supported Dave Brat Against Eric Cantor, who was a useless rubber stamp for the Repubs and MM.

So as usual, you are full of shit, when you make your accusations.

When the hell have YOU ever gone against your party candidates?  Can you even name one?  I doubt it .  You're like the other Stepford Democrats on this forum.

Have you ever had an original thought in your head?

You get your marching orders from Pelosi and Schumer and the leftist media buffoons and you regurgitate them here daily.

And as for your claim that I'm the biggest blowhard on here, at least I can back up my BS with facts.  And I take you fools on head on, I don't run and hide under my desk when the tough questions come my way as you do, and anytime the wind blows in the opposite direction.

I pretty much attempt to take on all comers.  What can you say?  I'll say it for you.  You're a lightweight Jim.  LOL!  grin

And BTW, How many times are you going to make the silly remark "Its your forum Rich"?

It is everyone's forum.  I just don't cry and whine like you do.  Maybe you should educate yourself Jim and then you can come deal with the big boys, who occupy the right side of the political aisle.

Greg doesn't whine.  Mel Doesn't whine.  I don't whine and say "oh its not fair that everyone is picking on me".  Just because you can't support your BS, don't complain about it like a child.  Grow a pair, suck it up, and put up the facts.

Problem for you is that you don't have any.  That's not my fault.  wink

And let me address lastly your end statement which I put in bold.

You say its only hyperbole here and no interesting conversation?

Well then why don't you put up GOOD conversation, such as the economy, or the North Korea issue, or the Israeli situation?  All you put up is your ridiculous Trump bashing on a daily basis, along with accusations of Russian Collusion.

I spoke up yesterday about the move by Trump to get the US out of the illegal Iran Deal put forth by Obama.

Where were you to interject in the conversation?  I guess I missed it.

You were probably busy though watching CNN and their 24/7 coverage of the Russian collusion so I'll give you a pass

Today Mike Pompeo is on his way back with 3 Americans who were held hostage in N Korea.  Trump admin. got them back home.

You could have started a conversation about that.  Why did you not?

The onus is on you man to bring up "GOOD conversation".

Do it and I'll engage you.  I'll probably disagree with you, but I'll engage you.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting smile

That's a welcome change......more than a few times I have wanted to refresh my memory on how much I had paid for something only to find the seller had deleted the ad. Not to mention the reason you mentioned.

All I wanted to know is why is the reason that I can't get a back up "MESSAGES" by member's I am dealing with here on the main front page, and prof of everything both parties talk about so it can be more secure. I see that as a way of taking no responsibility nor trying to help. I was expecting for N#4). So I did not get an answer as to what is the main reason why, there is a member's fees here. What are we paying for here, is this some kind of donation when we paid for membership?  Would you please elaborate more of this matter? Thank you have a good day.   Joel

Sounds to me like you are assuming I am associated with AM.....I am not beyond being a satisfied member for many years with way over 100 transactions, mostly purchases.

There are no guarantees anytime you are making faceless transactions. Unlike most sites AM does force real names based on membership fees in as much as possible. Due diligence on your part is still expected. The transaction feedback system here is quite helpful as well in keeping you informed of whom you are dealing with.

Not sure what you are talking about regarding "back up messages" regarding transactions. Sequence of how it should go.

1. You find something you are interested in purchasing

2. You review the persons feedback and decide if you wish to go further. You own judgment comes into the play here.

3. You click on respond to the ad and enter your message

4. The seller is sent an email to the address they have on file with your questions, offer etc.

5. When they respond it is directly to the email you registered on your account. At this point all the communication is directly with each other via direct email. (does that answer your "back up messages" concerns?)

6. Depending on the situation I usually have a conversation on the phone with the seller to get a feel for things.

7. Assuming you reach a deal, once you have received it you then enter your feedback to his profile and he to yours.

You should not be trying to complete transactions via the online private message system here which is I assume what you are talking about as you wont physically have copies of those discussions though you can see them in your PM box.

As for why there are yearly fees, there are expenses incurred in operating the site......and there is no percentage charged on each transaction like ebay does. I paid $100 a year as a supporter for a number of years in addition to the $15 yearly membership fee and never regretted it one bit.....I don't buy or sell much at all anymore so I am content to pay the $15 a year to maintain access now.

I just spend LOTS OF TIME - hours?  searching and sending messages to scope Im' interested in... only to get responses
and finally notice that the ads from from 2010 and 2009 and...

WELL NEED I SAY MORE.  Is that to make it look like it's getting more business here than it really is?
I likely won't renew next year - not cleaning house is ridiculous.

Going back to cloudy nights.

Sounds pretty silly not to limit your searches to ads from say the last 90 days and get mad because you didn't do so.....

Not quite sure what you mean about having and keeping more of records and that making it 100% secure.

Feedback is never removed unless the member was a problem and kicked off permanently. Unless sellers delete their ads (which is as of now no longer allowed but was for years) all the ads going back 18 years or so are still here.
