Saturn, Mars and Venus in good seeing!

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all

Seeing on the am of October 26 was the best I've had in a few months and I was able to take advantage of it (as best I can, anyway):

Hi all,

I managed to get some images of Mars and Venus this morning. The seeing wasn't as good as last Friday, but I'll take it.

Aw Heck, I just HAD to do a Holmes! *grin*

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I guess it had to happen, I decided to look for Comet Holmes, it was surprisingly easy to find in my soup! So, I hauled out the CCD stuff and fired off this shot. I MAY have the parts to mount my TOA-130 by the time Halley comes back, so I used the Mewlon instead. Shot with the SBIG ST10, LRGB. L - 6x3sec 1x1 binned, RGB 6x5sec 2x2 binned. I'm sure my post processing could use some help, but there it is:

It's a big image, 750k.

Interesting comparison

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Thought you might like to see this image. I shot the moon and Mars on Sept 4 with the same setup and F/R to show the difference in size and what Mars imagers are up against.

Mars Nov 9, 2007

Hi all,

Here is a Mars from this morning. I wasn't very confident as I shot the series, but the final results turned out quite nice.

Saturn Nov 13, 2007

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I managed to get a halfway decent Saturn this morning. I fought the processing on it, and ended up with this.

Hi all,

More images from Nov 13 morning. The Mars looks decent, Venus was not as good as I had hoped.
