Claims of hundreds of thousands of bodies found in mass graves in Iraq was a popular refrain after the case for WMDs in Iraq unraveled, but it too has turned out to be profoundly inflated and politicized claim. No one doubts that Saddam Hussein committed countless atrocities against the Iraqi people. From the gassing of Halabja to the brutal crushing of various Shia rebellions, to numerous other injustices it's impossible to deny that Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator. However, this fact alone is not sufficient to justify the Iraq war. The Iraq war was a mistake driven by the misguided rationale that somehow projecting American military power into the middle east and trying to force western democracy onto a culture that is not capable of accepting it would prove to be a stabilizing force. Sadly, it has not turned out that way.

Personally, I never had to change my doctor and I don't know anyone who had to change their doctor. My intuition is that while Obama did say something like this, the actual impact on the number of people who had to change their doctor is far less than the longevity of this particular political talking point.

I like the ones about Flynn, Comey and Russia and the Ukraine. Heck, I like 'em all!

It's especially telling given that you have to know that the special counsel already has well-established answers in hand for every question on that list. Take the "what did you know about outreach" question for example. It presupposes that it happened. This list of questions is all about establishing awareness and participation. What did you know? When did you know it? Who did you tell?

I'm not sure why Trump's team thought it would benefit them to leak these unless they somehow think that by leaking them, they can then start deriding them publicly and control the narrative.

Mueller's former assistant says grammatical errors prove leaked questions came from Trump

Michael Zeldin, a CNN legal analyst and former assistant to Robert Mueller, said Tuesday he believes President Trump leaked the list of nearly 50 questions the special counsel allegedly wants to ask Trump.

“I think these are notes taken by the recipients of a conversation with Mueller’s office where he outlined broad topics and these guys wrote down questions that they thought these topics may raise,” Zeldin said on CNN's "New Day."

“Because of the way these questions are written ... lawyers wouldn’t write questions this way, in my estimation. Some of the grammar is not even proper," he continued. "So, I don’t see this as a list of written questions that Mueller’s office gave to the president. I think these are more notes that the White House has taken and then they have expanded upon the conversation to write out these as questions.”

Well, that didn't take long. Things must be getting desperate for Trump. Even Rosenstein is talking robustly in response to the leaks about impeachment proceedings against himself.


A Rigged System - They don’t want to turn over Documents to Congress. What are they afraid of? Why so much redacting? Why such unequal “justice?” At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!

From what I'm reading, they are hardly "hardened" democrats, but I realize that narrative plays well with Trump's supporters. Saying it's a team of "hardened" democrats is a bit like saying Trump is a "hardened" democrat since he was a registered Democrat for years, as were his spouses and children. How much did Don the Con contribute to Democratic candidates in his lifetime? I'm not sure and don't have the where with all to look it up, but I'm willing to guarantee it was far more than $57,00. I seem to recall that he even contributed to Clinton's campaigns over the years.

The president is ignoring one important fact: Robert S. Mueller III, who heads the team, is a longtime registered Republican. He was appointed by another Republican, Rod J. Rosenstein, whom Trump nominated as deputy attorney general. But publicly available voter registration information shows that 13 of the 17 members of Mueller's team have previously registered as Democrats, while four had no affiliation or their affiliation could not be found.

Nine of the 17 made political donations to Democrats, their contributions totaling more than $57,000. The majority came from one person, who also contributed to Republicans. Six donated to Hillary Clinton, Trump's opponent in the 2016 race.
