More luminance exposure would even show more of the outer faint regions, really great shot, even for good conditions,

Deep M57 showing outer shell

Very well done, Ron!
I have seen several shots showing the outer shell, but most of them with a narrowband filter like H-alpha or O-beta.
With your setup and dark skies it would be very interesting to get a filtered deep shot on that object.

At my site that would be absolutely impossible with only mag 5 sky in best case.

Andrew, you will have fun with the 10D, its even better than the D60.
For constellations a little drawback is the low red sensitivity, it makes H-alpha areas look weak, but with some processing you get make them visible.

Combining shots to increase total exposure helps a lot.
My favorite lens is the Sigma 20mm f/1.8, stopped to 2.8.
