Same type of situation here, I had a great experience both times I had to contact Meade. Large companies always have some problems, so some mixups are understandable. I had pieces (that I should have had to buy) sent to me for free priority shipped for an ETX that was definitely out of warranty (older model). And then they sent pieces out for my LX200's handbox connectors for free also. KUDOS to them!

THANKS!!! I just sold my other battery because it couldn't run my laptop, LX200, heaters, electric socks (???) and still jumpstart my car in the morning!! Just what I'm looking for.

No, although I have looked through our one at school (Ohio State Univ) and it's very nice. Although it's not 2x the size of my 8" LX200, it's more like 5x the size...it's ridiculously huge. I'd definitely contact a dealer and LOOK through the scope and test it out, but if you get a good sample... I'm sure it'd be a great scope. Just my 2 cents.

I think they basically just changed the computers in them, the newer ones just have updated ROMS... v 3.34 I think. Other than that, the other couple I've seen all seem about the same. Although I'm no expert.

The Ultra's are his new line... his other eyepieces tend to be very nice eyeieces...and this is an attempt to break into the premium category. Stacked up against a Panoptic though... it's gonna be a long haul for Harry to beat one of those!!

Need some advice on a visual back C9.25"

Well....depends on if you have a second scope or so. If you have a nice refractor that you'd like to use 2" eyepieces with, I'd go with an adaptor and refractor eyepiece like a Maxbright or Everbright. If you're going to be doing photography, you won't be using the diagonal anyways, you'll use a T-adaptor and maybe a tele-extender or something like that. So I'd go with a refractor style diagonal if it was me (which I use on my SCT) Good luck! Anthony
