I had two chances for this shot....I blew the chance at the first bird (bad focus), but the second bird walked in just the right place I got a decent shot.

Another Something Different

These are egg masses from the Columbia Spotted Frog, which is petitioned for listing as a Threatened or Endangered Species. The egg masses are small and dark after they are deposited, but quickly swell and fill with fluid. This photo shows egg masses in both stages.

We have done lots of habitat restoration for these frogs, and are having some success. This year our target population (Heber Valley) had a 10% increase, while in other parts of the state (Utah), numbers were decreasing.
