I'd reccomend getting Ron Wodaski's book first. Having said that, a used ST7 Parallel version for about $1000 would be great to start with. You will find that the real challange is learning how to focus, track, auto-guide and polar align will be the real issues. With this camera you will be able to learn/do all of that and still take some nice images...

I would agree with Klaus, the Orion ED80 would be your best bet. Attached is an image from Ron Wodaski's CCD site that shows the Field of VIew using an 80mm scope at f6 and and ST7E chip. Youwill really like this setup to augment what you already have. Hope this helps! BTW, you could probably use the TeleVue .8 reducer with the Orion ED80 and get down to f4.8 which will almost double again the field of view. With the ST7 chip size vignetting shouldn't be a problem.

Ivan, I has taken 5 years and I still am not sure I knwo what I am doing :-) Actually, someone asked me the same question a year or so ago so I looked back at my early images and built a quick we page. The reality is that it takes probably a year or so to nail down imaging, autoguiding, focusing and finally processing. If you are luck enough to afford a good mount and a good scope your learning curve will be shorter.

Very Nice Eric! Do you have any software that does DDP? It will help bring out the fainter nebula. If you want you could send me your deeper light image and I can show you the difference. None the less, it is really nice!
