Great sketch Carlos.have you seen the article on sketching Jupiter in the May issue of Sky and Telescope?You have nice detail on those festoons arching into the EZ,the big BE is well represented as is the big rift in the SEB,I think that rift was brighter last year but it is hard to compare simply from memory,anyway keep those reports coming thanks for sharing.

Great sketch you have captured the festoons in the eq well and the twisted convoluted neb. If I may ask what kind of pencils do you use? do you use a regular #2 and push harder to get darker lines , or do you get different shades of darkness by using different pencils? Do you use a kneaded eraser?Thanks in advance for your answer and thanks for sharing.

Great sketch Sol, I noticed a bay in the N.E.B. just after the large festoon near the C.M. in your sketch but it may have been a contrast feature,the blue festoons really look dark with a #21orange filter,have you tried to use one on Jupiter?Again great sketch you really set the standard on Jupiter,both you and Carlos

Try a Meade AR-6 or Celestron 6"C6R, refractor ota with a matching chromacorr from www.astrobuffet.com for visual use you get near apo performance for much less money, your mount will easily handle either ota.
