Nikon D70 Viewfinder

The viewfinder is of the same kind you would have found on a non-digital SLR; that is, you are viewing through the lens. The LCD screen on the D70 is only for viewing images already captured (and menu items, etc). It's not "connected" to the LCD screen. More recent DSLRs have a "live" focus capability.

You can, however, hook the camera up via USB to a control program, like, Nikon Capture with DSLR Focus (http://www.dslrfocus.com/).

Or perhaps a Bahtinov mask would work.

Also, I think there used to be a way to attach a magnifier to the viewfinder to make focusing easier as well, but my memory is a bit foggy.

If you refer to the name change, it could be the "SyFy" is easier to trademark. Plus, sticking "SyFy" into your search engine would bring back results that aren't "polluted" with "SciFi" results. Just a couple of guesses, after all, what do I know?

I agree with the degradation of programming (Ghost Hunters and ECW, yikes), BG notwithstanding. I'm not overly excited about Caprica or the new series in the Stargate franchise, but I'll give them a look-see.

The best programming they had on of late was over the 4th weekend: reruns of the original Twilight Zone smile

My favorite recipes uses rye, whole wheat, and AP flour. But there's a multi-year waiting list for the AP flour grin

The high QE of the ST-10 vs the "low" QE of the 11000M is probably a factor. That, plus the large chip on the 11000 might require a field flattener in the imaging train that would not be needed when using the ST-10.

NGC1097

Superb!

The are two "spikes" apparently emanating from the galaxy. One appears to terminate near a faint (and I assume) satellite of 1097. Is that also the case for the "spike" at approximately 5 o'clock? Is there an even fainter and smaller galaxy there?
