Hi,

Lots of clouds for me the past couple weeks,I did get some clear skies last night.

I shot M12 in Ophiuchus

LRGB consisting of 120sx14 Lum and 180sx7 RGB.
It's a bit noisy from the short exposure time but I was happy to get a somewhat clear night

CCDStack for calibration,alignment,combine and deconvolution on the Lum.CS2 for levels,curves,noise reduction and LRGB combine.

TMB115 at F7
ST10xme

Hello,

Here's one I started on a few weeks ago,collecting luminance between breaks in the clouds.
I shot Lum on March 24th and 26th.The color came on Monday night which was the best night I have seen in many months,not a cloud in the sky all night,seeing pretty good too

I have had difficulty with the image,looking back I should have shot more and longer subs for the color instead of moving on to another object.

Here's the version I think is the best so far and some details.

L-32x240s
R-15x300s
G-15x240s
B-15x300s

Reduced to 55% full size.

M101 again Posted By Jason Boyce

Hi,

My apologies for posting this again so soon.
I did a reset on my monitor and checked my photoshop settings,my JPEGs now look the same when viewed with Internet Explorer so I am hoping it won't appear too dark on your screens now.

I reprocessed it from scratch and set the background at around 15-18 in Photoshop.Probably pushed the saturation right to the edge of overdone.

Your opinions on if it displays to dark would be most appreciated

Hello,

I thought I would give this one a try since I don't see a lot of images of it,now I know why. It's pretty small and needs a bunch more focal length and aperture than I have to really resolve it very well.

I took the subs on the same night as the RGB data for M101.

Here's what I ended up with for my efforts,it is certainly not what I was hoping for but now I know

L-20x180s
RGB-10x300s

TMB115 at F7
ST10xme
1200gto

CCDStack for calibration,registration,stacking and initial combine.
CS2 for some levels,curves,noise reduction and the finishing touches.

M51 last night! Posted By Jason Boyce

Hi all,

Here's my first image in a few weeks
I took a new job not long ago and frankly I have been a bit too wore out to have much interest in shooting lately

Last night I found my enthusiasm again and decided to shoot M51.

Pretty good conditions,seeing just average but transparency was good!

This is 44x300s Luminance,7x300sRG and 7x360sBlue.

I would like some more color as usual but ran out of darkness.

I have a full size image reduced to 60% to post and a crop.

CCDStack for calibration,stacking,deconvolution on the luminance,initial LRGB combine and DDP.
CS2 for levels,curves,noise reduction and the LLRGB combine.

I had troubles with color balance as usual,I think this is close though

M16 Ha Posted By Jason Boyce

Hi all,

After shooting the RGB for M13 last night I decided too shoot some Ha on The Eagle.Seeing was just lousy all night but improved a little towards the late morning.After watching the first couple subs download I thought I may be wasting my time trying to image!

I ended up with 600sx19 of 6nm Ha.
The subs ranged from 5.5-7.5 FWHM Needless to say but the initial combine looked extremely soft 8O

I applied 55 iterations of Positive Constraint deconvolution in CCDStack which helped immensely with the star sizes and higher signal areas of the nebula.

Shadow/highlight tool in Photoshop along with some more selective sharpening,star bloat work and a little curve to top it off.

It actually came out better than I was even hoping for so I'm pretty happy with it,though I sure wish the seeing would have been better on this completely cloud free night.

Maybe some LRGB tonight,looks fairly clear but very windy.

Uncropped and downsized to 60%

Hi guys,

Here's my first in awhile

Suprised a little last night by clear skies!
It was a bit hazy so I shot Ha.

24x600s of the Bubble nebula.

This was my first automated image,boy is nice to focus throughout the night while sleeping!Still have a bit of work to do on focusing as it seems to miss just a bit.

Heres the image reduced to 55% and cropped around the edges a little.

6nm Ha filter
