Mars Nov 19, good seeing

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I normally don't image on Monday morning, but I decided at the last minute to do it. I'm glad I did.

RGB image request

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I have suddenly gotten it in my mind to learn how to combine R,G,B planetary images into a single colour planetary image. I am wondering, hoping if someone would send me R, G, and B images (tiff would be best) of some planet so I can try my hand at it. Should be shot with a mono camera through those filters. I won't re-publish it anywhere, I just want to do some learning.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Yeah, it was shot last May, I'm working hard to get caught up and this one looks pretty good.

Hi all,

Here is Mars shot in terrible conditions. I post it because the second object in the image is my very first LRGB planetary image. The first object is colour shot with the SKY colour camera. I combined two red, the green and blue images from the DMK camera to create the final product. Throwing out the terrible seeing, I think the result is promising. I have a filter wheel on order and I am planning to do more of this.

Hi all,

Here is Mars shot in considerably better conditions. I tried an RGB image with the tri-colour images, but to me it looked too green. More practice...

Finderscope with illuminated reticle

Posted By Paul Maxson

I'm trying to find one of these to replace the finder that I bought for my TOA-130. I got spoiled by the finder on my Mewlon 250. **grin**.

Any suggestions, a 8x50 is perferred, even a rt angle finder would be an option.
