In my view, Trump gave a fiery and provocative speech.  It may have been ill advised, but it was not criminal.  There was a ton of ambiguity in the speech too, so I doubt Trump had any plan at all, he was just blabbing away.  Sometimes CNN portrays Trump as a fool, sometimes he is portrayed as an evil genius whose deep plans brought us to the cusp of totalitarianism.  Personally, I only buy the fool characterization.

It looks like the DOJ will get to the bottom of most everything to do with Jan 6 and prosecute several hundred criminals.  Good for them.  I will be shocked if they lay a glove on Trump.  At least based upon what I have read so far, which is frankly not that much.

I think it is clear the overarching story theme from CNN, and embraced by people like Rod, is that the Jan 6 criminal activity was sanctioned by or even planned by Trump and is condoned by a vast majority of Republicans.  It is a lot like the Russian collusion myth that way.   I think this story theme is sort of desperate on CNN's part.  Sadly, the "Trump is a seditionist" story line is only making him stronger.  It also is apparently ineffective at deflecting blame for inflation and gas prices away from Biden.  In my opinion, only Putin can save the D's chances in the 2022 midterms now, and that is not a comforting thought.

That's far from true, Darian.
Last month, "CNN finished among basic cable’s top ten, not in total day viewers (No. 4) but also among adults 25-54 in total day (No. 9) and primetime (No. 10) in February."
"CNN TV viewership was significant due to the second impeachment and acquittal of Former President Trump, as well as the ongoing heightened environment of the Covid-19 pandemic.  During a heavy news cycle, and as a news organization, CNN often increases the most. Therefore, it’s not surprising that viewership is down the most vs. last year’s highs. (CNN was the No. 1 cable network among adults 25-54 in Feb. ’21)."

Trump's been backing Putin over Ukraine for years:
"Candidate Trump spoke forgivingly about Russia's violation of Ukrainian sovereignty. He mused about lifting sanctions to smooth relations with Putin."
"The people of Crimea, from what I've heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were," Trump told ABC News in July 2016. That had been Putin's justification for the invasion."
"President Trump sought to undo one punishment imposed on Putin by proposing that Russia rejoin the G7, an organization of the world's major industrial economies. Other members, who had teamed with the US to kick Russia out during Barack Obama's presidency, declined to go along."
"His administration implemented some new sanctions on Russia at the insistence of national security officials and Congress. Trump himself objected."
"In almost every case, the sanctions were imposed with Trump complaining about it and saying we were being too hard," his former national security adviser John Bolton said on Newsmax recently."
"Trump cast doubt on America's decades-old commitment to defending European partners in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Aides feared he might try to withdraw from NATO if he won a second term."

And he also waited for better weather before he attacked, too. Not to mention gathering his forces around Ukraine, forging an alliance with Belarus where his attack aircraft take off from and his ground forces invade from, all of which takes a lot of time. Must be Biden's fault...

I guess it could take a couple years for a break in the weather.
So, given the response that Biden's been giving Putin thus far, including billions in lethal aid to Ukraine along with solidifying European opposition to him and given Trump's glowing approval of Putin including how smart he is for going in and taking land, you somehow think it might be preferable to have Trump as a deterrent versus Biden?

You must have unique insight into Putin's mind after coming to that conclusion. Thus far, Russia has lost 6000 troops, more than the combined losses of the US from Iraq and Afghanistan. Their economy is in shambles. Their visa and mastercards don't work. Shell Oil UK has pulled out of Russia in conjunction with our own embargo. So, that must be some sort of stellar decision Putin made when he "decided to go with Biden."...

Here's what a Fox fact check says about it:
"At the time the cancellation occurred a little more than one year ago, the Keystone extension was only about 8% complete. Thus, the project would have likely taken years longer to complete since construction only began in April 2020."
"Aside from the pure construction times, legal battles that plagued the pipeline extension and prevented it from being built since its initial proposal in 2008 would have also presumably delayed the project further."
"It would take years for that to have any impact. I know a number of members of Congress have suggested that, but that is a proposed solution that has no relationship or would have no impact on what the problem is we, here, all agree is an issue."
"Even if Keystone XL had been fully completed, the expected 830,000 barrels of oil produced per day would also not be guaranteed to all go directly to the U.S."
"The oil transported from Canada was intended to flow to Gulf Coast refineries, which export a large amount of oil after it has been refined into petroleum products."
"According to the EIA, exports from the Gulf Coast have steadily increased 2005 and hit an all-time high in December 2021. The countries who received the most of those exports in that same month were Canada, France and the United Kingdom."

Maybe you were able to reason before you became so impressed with links.
Maybe you could stop being inanely goofy for a moment and read and comprehend what the fact check says. Even if it were still being built, it would take years to complete it. And even then, the oil flowing from it is designated to be exported to three countries outside our borders.
